best pants out there

Familiarity:

The backcountry ripstop line is the best, from these pants to the shorts. I wear them everyday during the summer months. These pants are great, I typically put them in my pack when hiking as they are very lightweight and compact. Use them when the mosquitos, it's a bit cold or we've got some serious bushwacking to do. 10/10 would recommend

Terrible fitting and material

I don't know how this poor fitting and cheap material pants got nearly 5 stars rating. I'm about 5'7, 140 and a runner. These pants don't have standard fitting unless you have super skinny legs. The material is cheap not even worth 10 bucks. So, I sent my order back to backcountry.

I bought it for summer hiking, as it's breathable and gives me coolness while blocking the sun heat. I used it for travel as well.

Love these already. Glad I went with the large because I like them a little roomy for hiking. I’m 6’3” 195lbs with a 34 inch waist and 34 inch inseam.

Awesome pants

Familiarity:

An explosion of ticks in my area made me look for pants I could wear comfortably in warm weather instead of shorts. Couldn't be happier with these, they're light and stretchy, water repellent but breathable, while also ripstop, so decently rugged. Great pockets, good fit. That said, if the pockets are loaded the belt has a little bit of a hard time holding the waist up, could just be the fit on me though. I'm not using them for climbing but have worn them hiking and biking and agree with others that these are great. They don't run huge but definitely lean a little on the large side.

I really like the fit, texture, look and comfort. I wish there are more colors. I also get compliments on the fit and look whenever I wear it. I am 5’8” and have thicker legs so usually wear large but medium looks good and comfortable for me. Perfect for all day outdoor activities as well as city travel.

Do it all pant for Spring and Summer

As we move into the warmer months having a dedicated lightweight trail pant is a must and these check the box in every category. The ripstop fabric is durable enough to take a beating while hiking, climbing or just chilling at the campsite. The also feature an adjustable cuff so you can synch them up while out on the water. I think my favorite feature is the elastic waist with built in belt though. It provides all day comfort no matter what the circumstances. Rest assured they will move with you and you will likely find yourself pulling them on day after day.

Awesome climbing/hiking pant!

Big fan of these pants! I have been using a variety of synthetic stretchy pants from a few brands, Prana etc, for years and have to re-up each season because i blow through them climbing/hiking around the Wasatch. I got a pair of these and I have mostly only good things to say. - Lightweight, but not too lightweight where they feel like they wont be durable to handle the scuffs and scrapes I am going to need them to handle while climbing on the granite in Little Cottonwood canyon and elsewhere. They are also just substantial enough that i took them out spring skiing in April and they were PERFECT. Light enough to brief but hefty enough to not left the corn snow in. - The belt/waist is really nice and the fit is extremely versatile. I am a 34 waist with a bit of larger quads, and i bought the M (i was afraid they were going too tight) but they ended up being perfect. The waist is stretchy and the built in belt allows you to tension them down. -They are AMAZING for climbing. Couple of reasons a. Stretchy - feel really mobile in them. was able to high step on some small footholds and there was no resistance. b. The fit/belt allows for you to tension them up perfect with a harness on. c. The zipper stash pocket is in the PERFECT spot. You can toss your cellphone in there and it doesn't impede against the leg loops on the harness. I will say that it barely fits a cell phone (normal iPhone) - and there isn't much room to spare. But the pocket also features a reasonably sized zipper pull so you can close and shut this pocket while taking photos of your buddy on that multipitch. -Stoked on the ripstop, have yet to punch a hole in them yet, but i will, and i am grateful they are made of ripstop so the hole wont turn into a big one. A review below mentioned these are tight in the calf/ankle... I did not experience this at all, and I actually took them ski touring and was able to get them to fit over the top half of my smaller ski touring boots. and they fit really well with climbing shoes. They also feature a bungee tension at the bottom so you can cuff them up tight to your ankle for climbing. Stretchy freedom feels great!

Hiking pants around calf and ankle

Familiarity:

These pants are nice. Stylish, light weight and comfy. My complaint is the fit?. They are narrow toward the ankle making them tight near the calfs and ankles. Not sure why anyone would want to hike with there pants stuck to there legs lol. Not ideal for comfort.
