Great Sun Protection
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Light, breathable, and genuinely protective, this sun hoodie delivers true sun protection with a fast‑drying material that stays comfortable in real heat, and the hood/thumbholes add solid sun protection for long days in the sun. For reference, at 6'1" and 180 lbs the medium fits great with the intended relaxed, airflow‑friendly cut, though those who dislike roomier sleeves or thumbhole cuffs may prefer a different shirt.

Great Sun Protection
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I gave this to my brother for his birthday. He wore it on a river trip and had no complaints. It never got stinky, even after multiple days in the sun. I may buy more for Christmas gifts!

A Solid Sun Shirt
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I wanted a light layer and sun protection for bikepacking and river trips and this one has had a lot of hype so I figured I'd try it. It doesn't blow my mind but is a very solid choice. The price seems kinda high to me but is on par with other main brands. I'm usually between a medium and large t-shirt and am happy with the medium hoodie. It's suitably loose and a perfect length without being baggy. I have long arms and the thumb loops barely work, but that's the case with most shirts for me. The hood is a good neutral fit and stays in place. I haven't tried other sun shirts but the fabric is fine. I expected it to feel lighter but for me it's a great weight to throw on over another shirt in a cool breeze or wear on its own on a warmer day. It hasn't gotten excessively smelly and picked up stains easily like some tech fabric does. Yeah, I'd recommend it.

I love this sun shirt. It's perfect on the lake or river or just as a base layer for hiking. The material is very breathable and lets you dry off quick. Definitely would recommend.

Live in AZ and my husband works outside, so we go through a LOT of sun hoodies. These shirts are one of his go-to's because of the fit and lightweight material.

Beats Other Options
- Familiarity:

As an avid angler, river rat, and sun worshiper for the better part of my life. I was an early adopter in the sun hoody game and have one from just about every brand that makes one. Yes, even that brand your thinking of. The Tahoe is the first, and second, out of my laundry when I need one. The durability while wearing a PFD or covering my hands while using oars, is unparalleled. Truly one of the best products Backcountry makes.

I got this for my husband and he wears it ALL THE TIME, casually and for outdoor activities. I ended up ordering one for my brother in law as well and he liked it so much he bought a couple others in different colors.

This is one of my essentials that I pack on every summer adventure. I’ve used it for canyoneering trips in southern Utah, lake trips in Montana, pool days in the neighborhood and everywhere in between.

All-Season Essential Layer
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I wore this hoodie almost every day for sun protection in summer and as a lightweight layer on colder days. Sizing down to small was perfect for fit, and it is the ideal sun hoodie for long fly fishing sessions on the water.

Does anyone know the weight of the medium hoodie? The original design was about 9oz, and it felt heavy when wearing. Im hoping its similar in weight to the OR hoodie, or MH at 1/2 the weight. I noticed a lot of gear in general now on backcountry is missing the weight.
