So long neck pain.

Your neck wouldn't hurt as bad if your climber wasn't hang-dogging each bolt, or if you were belaying with Y & Y Plasfun Belay Glasses. With high-transparency prisms, the Plasfun lets you see your climber without actually looking up, and the plastic construction keeps the frame light, flexible, and solid. In fact, the frame is so flexible that it can be worn over sunglasses or glasses. The Plasfun comes in an anti-shock case, and that case includes a carabiner so you can clip it to your harness.

Oh my neck has never felt so good!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These glasses are amazing! You may look like a fool to those who don't understand, but to those who do, they will applaud you. These glasses make belaying so much more of a breeze for your neck! Highly recommend, even if you're only planning on going out and climbing one time this year.

Your Neck Will Thank You!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

These are really high quality belay glasses. This prism lenses are super clear and the plastic is light. They are super flexible, so I'm not worried about them breaking easily. Don't worry, you don't look like a goober either. Save your neck! You'll thank yourself later!

Not just for belaying

I purchased these not for their intended purpose, but for my father who has arthritis in his neck and cannot look up. So far, they are working like a charm - helping him climb ladders and even change light bulbs. They are lightweight, minimal design, and a great, fun color. Would recommend for any use!

    Neck savers.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have been climbing for years and JUST bought these as my first pair of belay specs. I am so happy. I've only used them at the gym but they help a lot by keeping my neck from hurting when I'm watching my climber. I like the sturdiness and thickness of the plastic. It is great that they come with a hard case! I mostly use the larger mirrors on these. The smaller ones give a good view as your climber gets higher but they are smaller so harder to focus with.

    Neck savers.

The only climbing glasses I can stand

I have try other models and for some reason the only I fill comfortable using are this one. I but this because my friend had them and I got use to them. My neck is very happy for getting them specially on those long pitches.

These things are awesome if your neck gets sore belaying, the mirror i very clear and is easy to see the climber while looking forward. Not the most natural view hard to focus on clips I felt like, would come in handy for longer pitches or lots of top roping.

        Neck strain no more!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are fun little specs that are awesome for the gym or outdoors. I'm pretty short and in the past it didn't take much for me to have to crane my neck upwards to see how my partner was doing on the wall. Then voila! These cute and bendy glasses got rid of the strain. The material that the glasses are made of are bright and fun, and they sit super comfortably on my nose. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star is because I've used other glasses before that have a larger mirror, giving me a slightly larger field of view looking through. Otherwise, great product for the cost.

        Saves My Neck

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had a few neck injuries and these were a must for me. They are a rubber material so they don't slip down your nose when you are sweating. Why pay more when you can get a great product for less.

Great upsidedown for follower w/ buccula

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These belay glasses worked like a charm, greatly reducing neck strain on climbs. As I suffer from hereditary form of subcutaneous buccula, I have limited downward neck movement, and so by simply wearing the glasses upside-down I could use these at the top of the pitch, bringing up the follower. This also allowed the second to look up and maintain eye contact with me throughout the belay. I plan on ordering more! Many different color offerings to mitigate the heat and stagnant air days during rapalls.

        Budget belaygles

If you are looking to save your neck for many pitches to come these are a great choice. They fit well on your face and the rubberized surface helps to keep them on your face. The only difference I have noticed between these and more expensive belaygles is that the mirrors have a narrower field of view than others. Plus these guys come with a case!

          Neck Saver!

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great purchase I made for my girlfriend. She used to complain about the strain climbing put on her neck from looking up and how it affected her sleep. The glasses were a huge help. Highly recommended to alleviate the neck strain.

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these as a gift after complaining about my belayer's neck a few too many times. I tried to get used to them at home, bad idea. I thought I hated them, felt terrible when wearing them etc......but I finally took them to the climbing gym and I'm now officially converted. As soon as there was something real to see in the mirror instead of a blank ceiling, all nausea/dizziness/etc was gone, and I had a super happy neck by the end of the session which hasn't happened in a long time. The frame is also super comfortable and doesn't slide down my nose even when I'm sweating.

          PT recommended

I use belay specs in the gym. Most of the walls are too steep to comfortably watch a climber up an entire route and I am sure the specs have made me more attentive.
I don't use them very much outdoors. They aren't as useful on vertical routes, and usually just get left sitting around (mine have narrowly escaped being stepped on a few times and I don't think they'll prove very durable once my luck runs out).

            If you can't beat them...

They may look silly, but holy hell do these specs make belaying a lot more comfortable. They aren't very applicable for multi-pitch scenarios, but if you're belaying a bunch at the gym or a crag, these things alleviate neck pain ten-fold. Using them can be a little funky at first, but you'll get used to it by the end of the day if you belayed enough climbers.

              Clear and comfortable

              • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Does the job and my neck is happier for it.

My only complaint is that after a few days of hanging the carrying case from my harness by the included carabiner, the loop on the case frayed and failed. There is a second velcro attachment method.

              Save Your Neck

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

First world problems, I know, but these really help your neck when you're belaying all day long. I used to make fun of people wearing these things, then I tried them, and now I won't go back! These are a great price compared to other belay glasses on the market. Highly recommended!

Photo disclaimer: I was using a Grigri w/ a friend holding the rope before taking the photo. Safety first!

              Save Your Neck

              No more neck strain!

              • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Comes with a nice protective case too!
