California-based WTB created its Cross Boss for riding fast and railing corners with precision. This tubeless-ready tire performs best in dry to damp conditions and on anything from hardpack to loam. WTB leaned on its proven Dual DNA rubber compound for the Boss, which blends FR (fast rolling) rubber for the center and softer rubber on the sides for the ideal blend of speed and grip. Use it with equal confidence in your next race or out on light singletrack; the even center tread shelf was designed for smooth, consistent acceleration, with more aggressive side knobs and defined cornering channels to give grip on turns. The side knobs, though taller than the center tread, are spaced wider apart to keep the tires free from mud and debris. At a claimed weight of 400g, the Cross Boss fits on a variety of rims with ease and gives plenty of room for modifying tire pressure.

This is a great all around cross tire, not awesome in deep sticky mud, but they haul ass in dry loose dirt, grass, and damp course conditions. If you are racing a UCI cross race these won't fly (too wide) but how many of us do that?!? These also are awesome for gravel grinders, cruising around, and they allow your rides to turn more adventurous when the pavement ends. Tubeless ready allows to run lower pressure so you can dial them in to any condition the course is in. The sidewalls seem up to the task when things get a bit sketchy. I am VERY pleased with them.

Fast, durable, light, tacky. Not much more I can as for and if you're not into UCI racing it is the perfect all condition race tire.
