Good things come to those who wait.

WTB developed the new Ci24 rims over the course two years, refining the design through a harsh regime of testing by some of the world’s best enduro racers. And with the addition of the legendary Chris King hubs, WTB’s long-awaited entry into the carbon party should be praised by trail riders of every kind. The 27.5in WTB Ci24 TCS Chris King Wheelset is lightweight, stiff and ready to take on whatever aggressive adventures you can find.

The new Ci24’s strength and durability comes courtesy of WTB’s innovative 4D Drilling technology, which disperses the load more evenly across the wheel by angling the spoke head and nipple with the hub flange. By reducing unnecessary lateral stress, WTB is able to give you a wheel with more stability and a longer lifespan. The Ci24’s 24mm internal rim width offers a sturdy profile with reliable, pinch-free sidewall support. WTB’s Tubeless Compatible System (TCS) rim profile is designed to couple effortlessly with TCS or UST tires, but is also compatible with tubes if that’s how you prefer to roll.

To finish off the package, Chris King’s trusty ISO hubs are laced to the Ci24s to deliver an utterly smooth ride. Known across the industry for quality and reliability, Chris King’s ISO hubs feature bearings made in-house and RingDrive technology, which delivers an unrivaled 72 points of engagement to ensure all the torque you dish out translates to a responsive and powerful ride—not to mention that signature buzz.

Do you know the weight of the wheelset?

I do not have the exact weight on this one with the Chris King hubs. The wheels with Onyx hubs weight in at 1850g for reference.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I picked up this wheelset for Christmas, and was excited to get it set up. Since then however, it has been a series of frustrating disappointments. I have only ridden them 3 times.

First of all, the rear hub is slipping under power, which I have never experienced before and certainly did not expect from Chris King. Its like they suddenly disengage, which is kind of scary. I called Chris King to inquire and they told me the hubs are from 2015 -- apparently they have been sitting around for awhile.

Second, the rims display an alarming "bubbling" at the spoke holes. I am hoping it is merely cosmetic. Bike is currently at the shop - I am waiting to hear back on both the hub and the rims.

IS the front hub a 15x100?
Does the rear hub fits 10 sp. cassette. I've a 2x10 XTR setup.

Hi Albert! The front hub is a 15x100 and you'll want to choose the Shimano/Sram option to work with that cassette.

Select option pull-down says front hub is that meant to be 15 thru axle? Also, are tubeless valves and rim tape included?

Hi Kevin,

Yes, that is meant to be 15 T/A. This wheelset does not ship with valves/tape.

Does this wheel set come with a 12mm front axle option or does the hub come with additional end caps?

Since this is the Chris King mountain front hub, the only axle options are either 15mm thru or 9mm QR, which would be separate.
