Catch a fish. Start a fire. Stay alive—or challenge yourself. The VSSL Catch N Cook angling kit is a minimalist survival kit that may keep us alive in the wild or let us stage a survival challenge for fun to test our self-reliance. The kit includes a fishing tackle tin with 15 pieces of fishing equipment, a wire saw, and a fire striker kit with fire starting tabs, a ferro rod, and a striker with a ceramic blade that doubles as a knife if needed. This compact package can be stowed in our pack or dash for emergencies or used on the trail or water to catch a shore lunch.
