    Believe the hype.

Anyone with a passing interest in cycling tech has probably been exposed to the hype surrounding Vittoria's new quadruple compound design, the heart of which is a thin, nearly transparent layer of carbon called graphene. The claims made for this material have been impressive, but we weren't sure what to think until we got our hands on Vittoria's Corsa G Plus Clincher Tires. Vittoria blends four rubber compounds with the inclusion of graphene for the Corsa G, and, without throwing any hyperbole around, we'd say the difference is very noticeable.

The tires' 4C ISOtech construction, which allows for separate base and surface compounds to be strategically placed throughout the tire, made cornering feel smooth and consistent while the fast-rolling center reduces the atrophy of watts on straightaways. Vittoria claims that the elasticity and carbon construction of graphene creates an incredibly durable tire, but for even more reassurance, it adds KEVLAR to further reinforce the core spun K casing. With multiple cotton fibers twisted together to create one yarn, core spun casings are significantly stronger than typical casings, and they don't add additional weight to the tire.

The Corsa G's luxurious 320 TPI is a final element that sets it apart from other tires. TPI measures the number of threads per inch in a tire's casing, with higher counts equating to a lighter tire with a suppler ride. Whether it's due to the high TPI, the claimed benefits of graphene, or a combination of both, we can attest to the Corsa G's supple road feel and ability to smooth chattering chip seal surfaces. In the clincher version, each Corsa G Plus will add between 235g and 265g to your frame, depending on size, and the tires' classic, gum-wall aesthetic makes them an eye-catching addition to your frame.

    • A superlative cycling race tire
    • 4C ISOtech construction blends multiple compounds
    • Graphene reinforces without compromising road feel
    • 320 TPI core spun casing is race-day supple
    • Classic style of gum walls

    Nice ride

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Had a pair of slicks on my Cervelo R2 when I purchased it so when it came time to replace I thought I'd try these. So far, smooth ride and great control on turns. Only have about 200 miles on them, and using latex tube so only running about 85 psi.

these tires = TRASH = disposable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Bought 2. Used 1. 3 flats in 10 rides on 1 tire. Only 1 of the 3 flats (the 2nd one) had any likely cause. The first was super clean flat road & nobody saw anything & nobody else flatted. The third, similar.
This tire has roughly zero puncture resistance. It even feels trashy thin.

    Disappointed

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have had at least 4 pairs of these. On my wife's bike, I put on a brand new 23mm set and noticed that after 2-3 rides on smooth, new tarmac the tread was peeling away from the tube. Probably a defective tire but for the price and importance, I'm done with these.

    DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Having raced and ridden road bikes over 20 years I have never had a clincher roll off a rim, until now. I ordered these tires on thinking thinking I got a good deal when I mounted them on my zipp 404s they hooked up easy. (Now I know too easy) anyway tires had less than 100 miles on them when they came with me to Gateway Cup this year. On the 3rd day of racing the tire literally blew off the rim going through a corner. Sounded bike a gun shot when it blew off (Was running 110 psi) Luckily I came away with just a little road rash however another guy in the field who went down with me ended up breaking his wrist. Although tires ride nicely, they also fit too loose on rims to be effective. Don't risk yourself or your fellow mates in the peloton with these tires.

    DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES!

    Solid.

Ordered these in the gum color way, look great ,super soft and comfortable ride at 110PSI on a 25mm. Great tire!

      Fantastic Tires

I just recently bought these tires so I can't comment on the durability but the ride is the best I've had.

        3 years and counting.

I have these tires on 3 of my 4 road bikes and have to say they’re pretty good. I have 3 years and over 2k on 2 sets of them without punctures. That’s pretty god for a race type of tire. I also road these on the gravel roads of Eroica California without any issues. They climbed exceptionally well and were very comfortable. Others with tubular tires suffered many punctures.

           3 years and counting.

          Good Tire Great Price

I've always ridden Continential GP 4000's Tires. However, I love the look of these so I decided to give them a try. Considering how much more the Specialized Turbo Cotton cost I thought this would be a great substitute for the look I want. These tires look great and run fast. Not sure about durability yet only time will tell. I will say that the color or the side wall seems to vary depending on where they come from.

            Fast tires

These are very fast tires. They roll very smooth and have excellent grip while cornering. All the hype about them is true.

Best riding tires on the market

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My experience with these tires has been in line with pretty much all the other reviews here... No, you're not going to get the kind of mileage on these tires that you might get on a 4000 SII. No, you're not going to get puncture resistance on these like on a Gatorskin. That being said, they are phenomenal riding tires in terms of ride feel and rolling resistance. Generally speaking I only get maybe 1-2 flats a year anyway, so having the absolute best puncture resistance isn't a priority for me. And as for the faster wear... I personally believe that life is too short to be riding crappy tires just to get a little longer tire life. I'll happily pay the extra dollars in the long run and keep enjoying my rides as much as i can, starting with, my tires. Plus the tanwall tires look great on carbon wheels.

BINGO. These tires, along with the Vittoria latex tubes, make for among the most comfortable, best riding combinations I have ever experienced. I log a couple of thousand miles per year. Usually have to replace the rear tire (230# rider), and 1-2 flats, usually 1 from road debris, and 1 from not seating the tube perfectly. But, I stock these tires because everybody in my house loves to ride on them.

              Supple.

              • Familiarity: I've used it several times

"Supple" is thrown around way too much in the industry to describe tires. But it actually applies here. These tires feel like butter on the road—I've never ridden tires that are so—for lack of a better word—delicious. No notes on durability yet as I've only put a few dozen miles on them, but surely they'll wear out faster than 4000s or the like. They're just too damn smooth not to. Still, for racing or pure luxury rides, I can't think of a better clincher.

              I was skeptical

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was very skeptical with these tires for the roads I ride on which contain plenty of pot holes, chip and seal and your occasional gravel. These roll extremely well and "knock on wood" haven't punctured yet.

              Awesome Road feel

              • Familiarity: I've used it several times

with Latex tube, the road feel is great. But the cons are you have to fill up the air pretty much everytime you go out for a ride. But the feeling is smooth as silk and soft as cheesecake.

You are pretty right in your comments, but try to fill up the air for safety reasons and it will be better.

              Great Tire

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The high TPI gives a supple ride and you can't go wrong with the skinwall color. Definitely provides a lot of grip

              Dream ride, average durability.

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After 3 sets of open corsa cx III's I went for the G+... It's very handsome tan sidewall. Really looks great on the bike exceeding my expectation in that respect. The tire is grooved, and only occasional gravel bits got stuck, but not really an issue. These tires roll like a dream with latex tubes, but after 500 miles, I got a pretty deep cut to the rear tire which I mended with duct tape and liquid rubber and rotated to the front. I was then able to stretch these out to about 2040 miles since 2/8/2018. Decided to retire them when I changed my chain and noticed yet another buldge/cut on the rear. Upgrading my review to a 4 star... they look cool for one, and they did outperform the Open Corsa III's by a longshot. Compared to Conti 4000's the size 25's are bit plumper on my DA C40 wheel-set. Would I buy the again?....you bet. I'll be running the G+ Control version in the winter and run these afterwards.

What do you think about your Shimano C40s? Crosswinds? Thanks!

How did these outperform the Open Corsa by a longshot? In what way? A bit troubled by the ENVE warning on these tires and have been using ONLY Open Corsa for years.

              Fast and comfortable tires

              • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Corsa Open is now my go-to tire. Very supple for added comfort and they really make the handling of my bike more predictable. I mounted the 25c on both HED Ardennes Black and SL Plus rims with no issues. As a bonus, the tread wear has been better than expected. Not as good as Conti's 4000s but very respectable.

              LOVE my 28c's!!!!!!!

Ride quality, grip is amazing. NO complaints. A bit hard to put on my C50 wheels but man......what a great set of clinchers. Best I've owned thus far.

                LOVE my 28c's!!!!!!!

Hey how do you like those C50s? How are those on crosswinds? Second question, why 28mm and not 25 or 23? Thanks!

                A WORD OF WARNING...

This tire is built like a tub without the tube liner sewn in. As a result, they have a flat shape which I found almost impossible to mount, with a tube, on Campagnolo Bora Ultra clincher wheels. Never had this problem before with other clinchers. If I had to change a flat on the road with these tires, it would be more hassle than they're worth. I gave them away. Not the best tire choice, in my opinion, if you roll on Campagnolo Bora's.

I have used these on Bora Ultra clincher wheels for over a year and have no problem getting them on and off with just my hands.

I also had no problems with mounting them on my Boras, or the other carbon clinchers I have tried.

Me three. I mount these tires on my Bora Ulta 35's with no problem and without using carbon tire levers, just my hands. It's the easiest mount I've ever had.

What? Huh? I have Campy Bora Ultra 50s and this tire is an easier install than Conti GP 4000s which run tight. No issues whatsoever.

i'm a chick and i have no issues mounting them. Best tire ever.

                  Gold standard

If you want a fast tire that grips like no other, these are what you're looking for.

                    Gold standard

Are you using the 25s or the 28s on your Emonda?

Are you using the 25s or the 28s on your Emonda?

I'm using the 25s which measure an actual 27.5mm on 17mm internal rims, 28s would fit with no issues though. They have a bunch of clearance.
