So far so good

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have only owned these boots for 4 months, though they have seen pretty good usage. I wear them to work on days where is ti very snow or cold and they keep my feet warm and dry. I also wear them at work all day on these occasions and I have no complaints. I have also taken them hiking in snow and heavy mud from melting snow.

Narrow Toe Box

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I ordered these to replace a pair of Salomon Toundras that split open. Compared to the Toundras, the toe box is very narrow. Other than that they felt good when trying them on. I did return them, since the toe box wouldn’t work for me.

Toasty warm and comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really pleased with these boots. Wore them tromping around in feet of snow at ~10F and my feet stayed toasty warm and dry. Sizing seems consistent. I typically wear between 8.5 and 9, and I went with the 9 - they fit great with regular-weight wool socks. They are not easy on/off, but I wouldn't expect that with boots this height. The purple color makes me happy and is different from the usual hiking boot assortment of beige and gray. I think they are cute in a dorky Colorado kind of way, but that might just be me.

Neither warm nor dry

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I had a pair of Vasque hiking boots that lasted 5 years and I loved them. I needed a pair of snow/winter/cold weather hiking boots so I figured the same would hold true for these "Ultra Dry Pow Pow" winter hiking boots. . Unfortunately they weren't that warm. I got them in mid January and I had to use toe warmers in them whenever the temperature fell below freezing but at least they were comfortable and dry. However once the snow turned into slush the "dry" aspect went away. Just walking around in moderate slush and melting snow these past 2 days has resulted in my feet being WET. The inside of the boot is wet as are the soles. There's no holes or gaps anywhere. I haven't stepped in any deep snow or puddles. This is just from walking around in the slush. These boots are neither warm nor dry and I've worn them less than 3 months. Not even a full winter season. I haven't submerged the boots at all. I'm just walking around in slush and my feet are wet and I had to use toe warmers all winter to keep my feet warm. At $122 I'm not pleased and am looking to return them under warranty.

Not what I expected

I expected these boots to last, I thought Vasque is a quality brand. I wore these 2 winters and the metal part that holds the laces at the top are coming off. They performed okay, sometimes my feet were cold despite warm wool socks. The fit is narrow. Now that I've got them broken in they're coming apart. Super frustrating.

Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love these boots! When I was looking for a pair of new winter boots, I had not even heard of this brand! For the past few years, my hands and feet are always cold no matter how good the quality and brand of boot I wear! And being as I live for the cold, I needed to find a boot that could accommodate that love. A friend of mine who is a seasoned Alpinist researched and suggested I go with these. They are just the best!

I have worn them several times now and have take them down to 0 Fahrenheit/ -17C without any issue. I hope colder tests will come! Because they are so thickly insulated it is a tight fit and hard/clumsy to get the boots on/off. If you want more room, size up. With the insulation, I have found them to be a true to tight fit. I have found that I need to wear a thin sock for comfortable fit versus medium to thick. No worries, I just carry a pair with me for when the boots are off. And the minor clumsy struggle of getting them on and off is worth the effort in order to be warm.

I am truly pleased with the purchase and am already recommending the brand to those who inquire about needing a cold winter boot! As far as being stylish, I recognize they got a low rating on here, but, I do not mind their look at all and have actually gotten a few compliments! Not sure who rated the look/style so low. The above the ankle cut has been perfect for me so far in keeping the snow out!

These WILL keep you Warm! The warmth rating is spot on (9/10)

    Made winter bearable!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am not a huge cold weather fan, my feet get cold and I'm miserable. However, these boots are amazing! They kept my feet warm and dry in cold, wet weather.

My feet shrunk this last year by a half size, but i ordered my old size so i could throw thicker socks on and I have more than enough room.

    Too Small

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Purchased these for my girlfriend in her normal size and they were too small. Especially narrow in the toe box and wouldn't be able to fit a thicker sock. Returned them but they seem like a really great boot and will be purchasing a larger size.

    Dry and warm

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have not taken these boots on a hike yet because it’s been too cold (-17C, 3F). I have, however, been outside shoveling and doing things outside of the house and around town. Even with three layers I feel the icy wind cutting through. But not my feet. My feet are warm and dry. WOW. I am impressed.

You can’t slide in and out if these. I leave the laces loosened but I still have to sit down and use two hands. I love these boots so much that I don't care. I signed up for an account just to write this review. These are so much better than my Kamiks. They got very cold in the toes. I am so happy with these boots and I hope they last forever.

I’ve been wearing these every day in very cold temperatures (-17 to -5C, about 3-20F)

    So WARM, Love these!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Got these for snowshoeing and my oh my are they a warm water proof boot! Wore them on a few wet/slushy hikes. Once in a blizzard! These are the toastiest most dry boots I've had. So excited to take them on may more adventures! I Purchased the Purple/gargoyle in 8.5 and they fit very true to size & perfect to pair with a fits or smartwool sock!
