When you encounter rocky terrain, the UA Charge foam footbed absorbs the shock, which in turn fights fatigue so you have more time to explore. Runs small, buy one full size up!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 11.5

Super comfy boot. Runs very small, order a size up if you have wider feet. I normally wear a 10.5 and ordered an 11. Had to return them and order an 11.5. There is a gap between the tip of my toe and the end of the boot, but i havent really noticed it while wearing. The BOA laces make taking them off and putting them on quick. Despite appearances, I didnt notice any changes to my steps, despite the rounded bottom. Once weight was placed on, it flattens out, while providing soft, yet durable steps. All in all, I guess we will see if the large sole actually holds up. Seems good for now!

This boot look ridiculous. That is obvious. from the crazy Michelin traction to the rounded foot bed to boa lacing system. It has all the bells and features. I got it because it looked reidiculous and the tech specs said that it was a high proformace boot. Maaaannnnnn have my expectations have been exceeded beyond my wildest dreams. Its like having a waterproof hiking cleats. I used these on Angel's Landing in Zion National park and never had a fear of loosing my footing or slipping plus 20+ miles of hiking. Then I hiked in Colorado in Mesa and wandered through some trails that had some snow on the trails from the winter and they kept my feet warm and handled the treacherous trails like a champ. Get these boots. You wont regret it. I typically wear a 10.5 I got an 11 and it is just right maybe on the small size but id rather have a boot that fits well on the tight side than a lot of wiggle room. Get a size to half size up.

I did go up a size because I read they run small. I probably could have gotten away with half a size up but the extra room just makes wearing thicker socks easier so either way works. The material seems very durable and put together well. My feet have never felt so comfortable. It's like they are just hovering in air. I couldn't be happier with these things.

Amazing traction, well built shoe. Found toe area too tight

Absolutely amazing boot!

This boot is absolutely amazing. Let me start by saying that I have wanted a pair for 2 years. I didn't buy them initially because they were to expensive ( 199.99 ) One day I was searching the internet and found them here at Backcountry.com, they were offering a 10% discount if subscribed to their emails. This next part is a testament to the wonderful " Gearheads " at Backcountry.com, when I tried to use my discount, it was no longer available. I called Backcountry and asked if I could receive my 10% coupon. I was completely stoked when the sales representative said he was actually adding a 15% discount in lieu of the 10% plus free shipping! Outstanding! I ordered them and was floored when the boots arrived just 2 days after I ordered them. I subsequently had to return and exchange them for a different size twice. Each time, the Backcountry staff were absolutely fantastic. They exchanged them with no problems! What great customer service! When I tried them on, they fit perfectly. They have a Michelin bike tire sole along with UA's " charged " cushioned outsole. These are the most incredible shoes I have hunted in. There is also a Gortex lined insole to protect your feet from the cold elements. They Ridge Reaper camo pattern is so cool. It comes with a boa closure made of steel wire for a secured fit. And finally, a cupron insole to eliminate foot odor. Once you invest in the UA fat tire boots your feet will than you! If price is an issue I suggest you try here at Backcountry.com and see if they can help you with reducing the price by offering a discount. Thanks again to the Gearheads at Backcountry.com for all of their help. :D

Best boots for all hiking terrains

I will start by saying this will be an honest upfront review. My wife had purchased a woman's version of this boot that we found at Ross Dress for Less for $40. She normally wears a women's 8 to at most an 8.5. However, she found the US 9.5 was an equivalent fit. Anyhow, after her first hike she commented how co.for table they were so it sparked my interest for a pair.

Both my wife and I are in law enforcement and wear duty boots 12 hours a day; usually Danners or Rockys. So I am used to wearing heavy duty work boots that have to also be comfortable enough to wear for 12 + hours a day in all weather and terrain conditions. I can tell you this, if UA made these in a duty boot I would wear nothing else, they are that comfortable.

I like to research products as much as possible before making a purchase, especially if I am buying on-line. The biggest conflict I found was regarding sizing. Some reviews claimed they fit as expected and others reflected that 50% of reviewers found they ran small. Although nice to know, this information was just about worthless because no one stated how small they ran, we're they just narrow, short, etc. I did find one review that said to buy 1.5 to 2 sizes larger than you would normally wear. So I went to a local store that stocked two different UA hunting boots and several styles of shoes. I tried on four styles and found a 12 was the best fit. Normally I wear a 10.5 and I can many times wear a 10 wide. So I ordered a 12 and hoped for the best.

They arrived and exceeded my expectations
The size 12 was a perfect fit wearing UA heatgear boot socks. I felt I had enough room to wear thicker socks if I wanted or even thinner socks if I tightened the boots more. The BOA lace system is awsome. My feet have a tendency to get hot and with the BOA I can release the tension and let my feet breath when I am not hiking and it takes less than two seconds per boot to tighten them. Also I can adjust them in less than a second to tighten or loosen as the day goes on. Also no laces to come undone, get wet and muddy or trip over. I now want BOA laces on everything I wear. These boots truly feel like you're walking on a sponge. There is no impact and they absorb all of the shock you can deliver, even if you are running or jumping. I could not believe how comfortable they really are. I honestly can not think of a more comfortable shoes or boot I have ever owned.

I put them to the test with a long hike covering mud, snow, ice, water, loose rocks, trees and borders. Parts of the trail had washed out with mudslides and downed trees. It was a mess but a great test for the boots. My feet stayed completely dry and did not sweat at all but went cold either. The boots really are waterproof and breathable. The soles gripped every terrain we covered. Yes, they slipped a little on the ice but not enough to warrant putting crampons on, which I would normally have needed to do with previous boots.

Overall, I can not recommend these boots enough. I found the best prices on Amazon and on Backcountry. Ironically, the seller on Amazon was backcountry but they did not list my size. Eitherway the price was the same shipped to my door.

I hope this helps and sorry if there are any typos, used my phone to write the review and it has small keys.

Bought mine to play basketball in. I am 56 years old and the concrete hurts my knees. I have had them for 3 days now and do not want to take them off. You can walk / run all you want. The last thing to get tired is your feet. Will not go without these again. All I wear anymore is BOA laces. These do not seem as good as the Redwing BOA laces but they are plenty adequate. Came back to look for pair for my wife. There is a lot of talk on how they fit. Some say small some say just right. I wear 11 and if they were any smaller they would be to small. No room for slop.. If your active and can afford it they are worth every penny. Caught a special here for 159.00. Note my blades are also BOA laced

My husband saw these and decided he had to have them. Here are his thoughts: "it takes a little while to get used to the curve of the sole, but on the trails it's not nearly as noticeable. I like how easy it is to take them on and off with the boa system. The tread grips exceptionally well on loose and hard pack surfaces. The only downside is they can be a bit squeaky."
