Love at first run!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I took my first run in this vest today...7 mile singletrack. Ill start by saying that I have been a Salomon Adv Skin loyalist for years...and after one run in this, it will definitely be my summer running vest going forward. It is small, mesh back, minimalist, and doesnt move when running. The front closure system is simple to use and easily adjustable even when on the move. The only downside is that I like to run with my phone for music and pictures, and the front water bottle pockets are too short for an iPhone 7 plus (Ill get over it! It does fit but the top pokes out...still secure). Cant wait to get a couple more runs in this vest and will update with any new findings. I am 6 feet, 165 lbs, and I run the medium. Great fit.
Light and Comfortable
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I used this for a 100k race in Idaho recently. The vest is light and very comfortable. I had no chafing. The bladder is very easy to fill without removal making aid station stops quick. There is enough room for a rain jacket and the tailwind I needed but barely. For me, the pack would be a bit too small for a 100 miler if running without a crew. Other than that it is great. I have several Ultraspire packs and like most of them. This is one of the best. The 2.0 version has elastic cords across the chest that permit chest expansion...a great feature.
