To race or not to race.

It's not even a question—you're racing no matter what, and you're running in Ultimate Direction's To Race 3.0 Hydration Vest. I'm 6'1", 180lbs and I needed a small!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm usually between a medium and large on most things, and according to the size chart for this, I could have gone medium or large. After reading other reviews decided to go medium. It was still too big! Even with the straps cinched all the way, the bottles were bouncing around. Returned and ordered a small, which works well. I'm 6'1", 180lbs, with a 42" chest (around the armpits).

Might be great, but didn't work for me

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

This looked like a great option and my girlfriend loves her Ultimate Direction pack (hers has 2 bottles up front and a hydration pouch in the back) , but this didn't work at all for me. When empty the vest fit great, with no motion while running, however when I put water in the bottles the vest would not stop bouncing up and down. I tried several different adjustments to try to fix the issue, but to no avail. It may have been a sizing issue, but I fall dead center of the chest fit range for a size large. I sadly returned the vest and will continue my search for a hydration option.

Awesome, runs big

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I ordered a large in this because thats what I wore in the AK 2.0 This one was significantly bigger. I had all the straps bottomed out and it was still sloshing around.

The feel of it is def a step up from the AK 2.0 I wish backcountry had one in a Med.

Thanks for the review Ryan! Super helpful to get this feedback out to the community.

Love the UD Packs

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

UD makes arguably one of the best group of running packs on the market and caters to all different distances. These packs are durable, fit snug and are designed for the pickiest of runners. I have run for 6+ hours in these packs with no shirt and never had any sort of chafing or any issues. Very easy to clean as you can easily throw them in the washer along with your running clothes. These vests come with soft bottles which are fantastic! Don't be skeptical, just try them out.

Hydro power

This Hydration vest is pretty cool. It's new to me and so far it works as should and keeps me hydrated on hikes and runs. I'll continue to use it.
