Sprint Short

Let's not forget that as mountain bikers, we're often hurtling downhill like a two-wheeled wrecking ball, flying over jarring roots and rocks on a skinny strip of dirt. As disastrous as this ordeal sounds for non-riders, the sensation of speed is just part of the fun. For these blistering downhill runs and technical descents where falling isn't pretty, it pays to be wearing the bomber durability and longer coverage of the Troy Lee Designs Men's Sprint Short.

This gravity short falls beneath the knees with its relaxed cut, allowing you to properly suit up with pads before plunging downhill. Rugged 600D polyester withstands the rigors of scrapes and spills on the trail without ripping or fraying prematurely. Strategic mesh vents prevent overheating, especially when you're riding in the midst of summer heatwaves. And because it's a bit baggier, the Sprint's adjustable waist tabs prevent it from slipping or sagging as you ride.

  • DH shorts for mountain bikers in the fast lane
  • Durable material resists tears and abrasions
  • Long, baggy cut accommodates knee pads for rowdy runs
  • Mesh inserts drop heat while you drop in
  • Adjustable waist tabs maintain coverage and reduce slipping

Troy Lee for life

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Troy Lee Designs makes the best shorts out there. These aren’t quite as durable as my TLD moto shorts I replaced these with, but what they lack in durability they make up for in breathability. The length on these shorts is perfect to cover knee guards adequately. I find some trail shorts are just too tight and create an awkward fit with knee guards. My only gripes with TLD shorts: 1) Stop making the pockets with mesh liners as they are prone to ripping and creating a black hole into the inner depths of your shorts 2) There is only one pocket on these shorts and it’s awkwardly placed especially if you are carrying a phone. When you are pedaling you can feel the shorts strain with your phone as the pocket does not quite have enough room to accommodate an object of that size. I still have an IPhone SE and if you have a bigger phone forget about carrying it in these shorts.

very comfortable. I love the grippy liner on the inside< works great

Looks killer and rides great. These shorts are awesome they feel thick enough that they can take a beating but not so heavy that you wouldn't want to wear them in the summer. These are awesome! I actually used them to set up my hammock. If you have any questions, hit me at 801-523-4075 or email me at borloski@backcountry.com.
