Awkward Fit

I'm a typical medium athletic build, and the specs on these shorts just felt all wrong. I was also surprised at how thick they were compared to some of the other materials that MTB shorts companies are building with. To that end, these seem like they're bomb proof, so if you're looking for that they are great ... however, due to fit issues which was oriented around the way they fit my hips and backside, had to return.

    Not for me

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Size Bought: Small

The fit on these is terrible for me. Tiny waist and big everywhere else... this is a VERY curvy fit. I could barely button these, although I do have a larger waist for my size. The rest fit fine, so going up a size wouldn't work. I did like the material though. Bummer.

    Go-To Shorts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have two pair of these shorts now - they are very durable, the fabric is heavier that many women's mtb shorts - more like what men's baggies are often made of. Love the turquoise, although they always look dirty... I wear a size large, for a pretty relaxed fit, I am 5'10 160 lb with big butt and quads. My only complaint is that the velcro fly closure wears out and the snap isn't enough to keep them fastened, not super secure.

    favorite troy lee shorts

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have 3 pairs of troy lee shorts and these are my favorite! A lot of women's mtn bike shorts I've had in the past don't have functional pockets but these are big enough to fit things comfortably and zip closed too. The elastic waste band is stretchy and adjustable. I am 5'5" 125lbs and got a size medium because I like mine on the baggier size, but I probably could have worn a small and been comfortable too.

Great MTB shorts, but run small

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Very comfortable shorts and good length. The zippered pockets ensure stuff doesn't fall out. I'm 5'4" 140lbs and usually wear medium, but had to size up with these shorts to a large.

    Ruckus Short

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I ended up returning these as they just didn't fit me quite right, but the material was nice and sturdy and would have done just great
