I Don't Usually Wear Cargo Shorts But...
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: L
Just to be clear, Backcountry sent me these shorts but the review will be my honest opinion regarding them.
The shorts are nice. Right up front I'll let you know that they run a little short. I'm 6' with a 32" inseam and they sit a couple of inches above my knee (which I'm okay with). They fit true to size as well. The material feels kind of funky at first. If I wear shorts, they're typically a little stretchier but the ripstop nylon these have incorporated makes them feel kind of stiff. That being said, I've grown accustomed to the feeling and they're actually pretty comfortable. I don't know if they're $90 comfortable, but I like to wear them and I wear them frequently in the Colorado heat. The waist has adjustable tabs and the fly is made up of buttons, not zippers. The shorts feel well ventilated and I don't find myself overheating or getting bad swamp-ass in them, so there's that. I can't speak to the durability of the shorts but I'd imagine the ripstop nylon would be pretty durable. I know I haven't torn them yet and I'm pretty hard on clothes.
