Great pair of shoes

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8.0

I got these for running and working on my feet all day. Wonderful pair of runners with short, painless break-in period (I had no blisters). At a fraction of the cost of Nike or Adidas, these are a great buy.

Great Road Shoe!

I've been running in these shoes for a month now, and I've logged over 125 miles. This is a great road shoe for runners who are looking for a compromise between a true minimalist shoe and something with a thick stack height. They have just enough padding and arch support to keep my feet protected, but not so much that the shoe loses ground feel or flexibility. The upper of the shoe breathes well. I've been running in the summer heat (95degrees/80%+humidity), and these shoes are great, until they get saturated. They could use some type of drain ports in the side walls of the foot box. Speaking of the foot box, it's plenty roomy.

The only reason I didn't give these a 5 star is the soles are starting to wear a bit prematurely. This is due to the design of the sole not having the harder rubber covering all of the cushioning foam (I assume to save weight). If you have a foot strike that is forefoot but not on your toes, then there will be wear.

All in all a great shoe. Can't wait to see where they take me!

Great road shoes

I'm 5'10", weight 145-150#, have narrow feet and strike mid-foot. My previous road shoes were a Montrail Fluid Flex STs (a bit wide). My trail shoes are La Sportiva Anakondas. I only have ~50 miles on the ST-2's, 4-8 mile runs so far, but the ST-2 are great road shoes for me. The foot bed and upper fit my foot comfortably. I can snug it up heel through mid-foot with the laces and still have room in the wide toe box. Although a lightweight, minimalist shoe I find there's generous cushioning/shock absorption. The road feel is superb. I've tried several other road shoes including Brooks, Merrill and the Altra One 2.5. The ST2 is far and away the best road shoe I've found.
