Powderflo Pant

The North Face's Powderflo Pant is designed for skiers and snowboarders who don't feel the need to get out when conditions are mediocre, but shred with the best of them when the snow is soft and the weather is gorgeous. These pants feature Gore-Tex two-layer fabric to ensure that the snow won't seep in even as it starts melting in the afternoon—keeping you dry and comfortable for run after run. Adjustable waist tabs and belt loops allow you two ways to customize the waist fit, and work with jacket-to-pant integration compatibility to prevent snow from sneaking in at your midsection. StretchVent gaiters limit snow movement without limiting yours, and feature gripper elastic to help them seal in place around your boots. Harness-friendly pockets allow you to reach your gear whether you're on the snow or dangling above it, making these pants more broadly useful than your old, dead-winter ski kit.

  • Shell pants for run after run in comfort
  • Waterproof Gore-Tex seals out melting snow
  • Chimney Venting allows heat and vapor to escape
  • Adjustable waist tabs and belt loops for a perfect fit
  • StretchVent gaiters limit snow move
  • Zippered cargo pockets are harness-friendly

Love These

Got these snow pants and was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable they were. They also look great!

    Pretty good, not great.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super durable material, but a better pocket design is something to be desired. The front thigh pockets are incredibly deep, yet the opening isn't big enough to shove your skins in for a quick lap. If I was carrying a handful of rulers, the pockets would be ideal. Aside from bad pocket layout, these pants kick ass.

Long sizing is good, pockets not great

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large Long

I got these in a Large/Long and the fit feels real good. I'm 6'4 with a 36" inseam and they are as long as I need them to be.

However, the pockets are not great. The front top pockets are very shallow and the material is soft cotton, which I think will stick to my hands when I they're moist. The front thigh pockets are poorly positioned... I would much rather have them on the side. I don't think I'll like the feeling of my Tram Bar hitting the front of my thigh while I'm skiing.

There are no back pockets, which to me is a huge oversight. I always use my back pockets when I'm hanging out apres ski. I also noticed that the butt is a lot colder than my old pants and I think it's because my old pants have big pockets in the back. I will remedy this by having a tailor install back pockets.

The area on the bottom of each leg, where your skis and boots hit, is not super rugged. I'll have to have some rugged pieces of material sewed on there too.

I'm keeping them for the fit, but I'll end up paying a tailor about $100 to make them better.

    Great Gore Pant

Happy with these so far. Gore waterproofing, true to size, good pocket options.

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
      Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
      Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
      Hip:
Measure the hip circumference at the fullest part of the seat, keeping the tape horizontal around the body.
      Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
      Sleeve Length:
Measure the distance from the prominent bone at center back neck, across the shoulder, over the bent elbow to the center of the wrist bone.
