He's not heavy, he's my brother

I thoroughly enjoy these shoes for most casual walking. I wouldn't take them out on a trail unless necessary. Fairly comfortable and seem to be holding up for the past few months in the snow, mud, wet conditions we have been having. Good grip in slick conditions and I even get a compliment about them here and there,

The one gripe is that they are pretty heavy, but I guess I can just say that they are good training for lighter shoes.

    Very nice

Great shoes! Comfortable wether you go hiking, ride a bike or just chillin! I highly recommend them for anyone.

how many inches does the heel give you?...

how many inches does the heel give you? Do you have one in Black, not Black/foil gray? Thanks!

the heel gives you maybe an inch or so. not really that noticeable though

Like the shoe, hate the durability

I am on my second pair and I will be returning them again.

I love the way they fit and how they look, but the durability is a real issue. The first pair I got the gum rubber rand de-laminated on me after just a week just like it did for Rob Plowgian. The second pair I have had for a little over 2 months and the shoe laces are fraying, the liner in the heel cup has holes, the gum rubber rand is de-laminating again, and there is a hole on the outside of the heel.

Unless TNF has improved their quality on these shoes I would say stay away from them.

        Like a glove

Great fitting shoe right out of the box, I can tell with some work-in time, they will feel even better. Very true to size, and a very cool look that I would most aptly describe as a "trail walking skate shoe." I have a fairly normal size foot, width and height wise, with a medium arch.

          I don't usually share negatives...

I think they look great however I in no way would say these are comfortable. I replaced the insole to try and improve that but i just find these shoes hard. Compared to my other NF shoes these just don't feel like the same brand at all. Like others said these are heavy so they are not trail shoes more of a casual shoe which is why i purchased them. My least favorite part about the shoe is the heal. I'm lazy and like to slide my foot in each time. 90% of the shoes i've ever owned have no issues but these the padding crams down and you walk around waiting for it to move back up. This is somewhat my own fault i guess

            Sum it up:
            Great looking casual shoe
            Heavy, not soft shoe
            Flimsy weak heal

            On Pair #2

Fit well and liked the style. I had the toe peel a bit, but I used superglue and fixed it pretty easily. I bought the black & grey originally, now I bought the black pair and they haven't had the peeling issue after a month, so I'm pretty happy.

              Pros and cons

                Standard fit

Toe rubber started pulling away after 3 weeks. (My buddy bought these shoes as well and his are doing the same thing)

                Pros and cons

                These are North Face?

I'm sorry to be sarcastic here, but are these really North Face shoes? I have owned lots of North Face gear for many years and these shoes will be lucky to see one year. I've had them for a month and the toe rubber is already separating from the shoe. Not just in one spot or because of a stubbed toe. The rubber around the whole shoe needs re-glued. I guess they invented shoe goo for a reason. If I didn't pay $80.00 for them, I wouldn't expect them to hold up, but come on! North Face?

They are pretty stylin' though. They are comfy. And they are going to be repaired. BOO!

u wont b sorry wth these

a must have very compy and look great.have had mine now 4 over a year and they still look new.

                    All Show No Go

The shoe looks great and is comfortable. However, after about 50 wears, the fabric lining the heal wore out and the top lace holes tore. Build quality is very poor for any price, let alone $90. Would not recommend.

owned 3 pair, just ordered another

This is the perfect sneaker for me... and they look great too. My house borders the Appalachian trail in NY State and I have tortured these shoes every way imaginable... They have been soaked and have dried and come back perfectly.. Dirt and mud doesnt seem to bother them. They are virtually indestructible. They are heavy enough, but not too heavy. I was originally intrigued by all the natural and recycled materials... Every little bit helps..

have treated me well for 1.5 years

I have worn these shoes for probably more than half of all days over the last 1.5 years often in challenging terrains and they have remained comfortable, helped me maneuver safely, and have slowly started to break down, but not at a rate I would call abnormally fast for the amount of use.

They've been to South America and East Africa with me, rain, shine, mud, snow. I would highlight comfort and versatility as big pluses of these shoes and personally I think the style and design is excellent.

                          Poor quality

I loved this shoe for the first 2 months when I noticed the glue on the toe started to disintegrate. After wearing them for a good 4 months the whole shoe was coming apart. NF has gone down hill in my opinion!!??!! I plan on sending them back today.

                            These are facts.

These shoes are a bit on the heavy side. However, they seem to be extremely durable and they look good. I had a sizing issue and had to send them back for a half size larger. Overall I would say they are worth purchasing.

                              Odd sizing.

I had a sizing issue with these shoes. I bought 2 pair, one 11.5 and one 12. 11.5 was way too small and the 12 was half size too big. One of them might have been a factory defect, not sure. Too bad, I liked the look of the shoes, they just dont fit right.

                                Not very durable

I loved these shoes; however, they are not very durable. One of them did not even last one year.

                                  north face shoe

order a 1/2 size bigger. i usually wear an 11 but they were to tight to put on. they looked really nice though!

                                    great shoe

i am really pleased with this shoe and find it to be really comfortable.

Where are these made, and under what sort...

Where are these made, and under what sort of working conditions? If you're truly trying to present a responsible shoe, this should have been factored in...
