I'm in love with this jacket.
I wore it on a recent ski trip to Japan and it handled the powder days admirably. It kept me dry right through the two weeks and breathed exceptionally well.
I've got the Urban Navy and I think it's a stylish number in additional to its technical capabilities.
I'm quite picky about clothing that is too 'relaxed' fitting and I don't find his jacket to be too bulky. I find the sleeve length to be true to size as well.
If in doubt, buy it.
Bigger than anticipated

This jacket ran larger than my other jackets and coats from Northface. The jacket felt overly bulky as a result. It wasn't a flattering look to also then have sleeves too long. Last, the color was lighter than pictured. I returned it and I am on the hunt for other gear.
Great jacket but bulky

Excellent build quality and zippers. Shell is interesting version of soft feeling goretex. Sleeve length is correct. The fit however is very relaxed and too bulky. This seems to be the case with many North Face products. Don't let them fool you when they say "athletic" or "signature" fit. I look like a fireman when putting on many of their "athletic fit" pants and jackets including this one. I would not want to use this for athletic activities like skiiing but tailgating, ok. It does seem toasty. If you are on the heavier side for your height you will probably like the loose, relaxed fit. Not for me though.

Good quality and craftsmanship. Thoughtful things like thumbholes to keep sleeves from pulling back, extra snap areas to tuck away snow skirt and hood are great. Insulation is better than expected. Collar makes a high face cover when zipped up which is nice and hood has many adjustments to tighten it from helmet sized to regular head size and zips off. Only thing I don't like is when collar is laid down it is very large but is to be expected if you want it to cover your face when you zip it up. Because of that it looks different than a regular around-town jacket so I wouldn't use it for anything other than boarding.
