Granite Face Pant

Granite gives climbers pristine cracks, incredible slab, and the best friction out of any other rock; so great, in fact, that it can shred clothing quickly. The North Face made the Men's Granite Face Pant as durable as possible without interrupting your climbing performance. Its stretchy, breathable fabric keeps you comfy from "on belay" to "take." There are adjustments at the waist and leg openings to stay secure under harnesses and over climbing shoes.

  • Climbing pant provides durability and breathability on the rocks
  • Stretchy cotton blend and articulation promote freedom of movement
  • Adjustments at waist and leg openings ensure a secure fit
  • Zippered thigh pocket secures phones and topos

Excellent climbing and hiking pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 30 Short

Lightweight, easy to move in, quick to dry. These pants exceeded my expectations. These are the hiking and climbing pants I've been looking for. One note is that I have put two tiny holes in them, one from having my keys in my pocket (not smart) while bouldering, and the other from pulling myself up in an awkward mantle. So, I feel that this constitutes hard/excessive wear on the pants, but this is to say that they're not super tough, but that's also what I like about them - they're lightweight and super comfortable for all day wear or multi-day backpacking (and I love the draw cord ankle cuffs). I'm 5'10" and weight 140lbs. and I ordered these in a 30 short, and they fit like a dream.

I've been looking for these!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 34

I've been looking for functional, easy pants like these for months. I should buy another pair, really. I'm a full-time parent, I'm outside and moving around a lot - also big on hiking and getting out and having an adventure. these pants are VERY EASY to wear and not feel like i'm out in my convertible (albeit more technical and stretchy) hiking pants but also feel like I can get out into the park or the woods comfortably.

because I'm out on the trail with a 3.5 year old, I'm not covering huge distances or really difficult passages, but these handled about 5 miles just fine in warm conditions, child in the pack for at least half that excursion. the tie in the waistband holds well, and the fabrics stretch was accommodating. I have the fatigue color and the textile looks very casual - it seems durable but ask me in a few years.

the size guide on TNFs site was accurate, better fit than I expected.

How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure the hip circumference at the fullest part of the seat, keeping the tape horizontal around the body.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
Sleeve Length:
Measure the distance from the prominent bone at center back neck, across the shoulder, over the bent elbow to the center of the wrist bone.
