Not a fan
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I wanted a comfortable, easy-on boot for before and after skiing. I have some old Sorel boots that I love, but I wanted something lighter and smaller. As suggested by other reviewers, I got a full size larger than normal, which was the right choice. However, the insulation in these boots seems to bunch up towards the bottom when I put them on. Also, once they're on, the top portion around the ankle is very loose, and the sole is very stiff. I'll be returning these boots.

Runs small; size up 1/2 to whole size.

Toe box was adequately wide, heel pocket was a little too wide, and length was way too short. I have fairly low-volume womens feet, usually size 10 ( I ordered a mens 9 and my toes were crammed into the front). I needed a boot that is waterproof and good on ice, which this boot is. It also has a sole that has very little flex, which is great for snow and ice. Stiff, but plenty of rocker in the sole so its comfortable walking.

Sizing all wrong
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I wear a 9 boot and 9 for every other TNF shoe/boot, but the Chilkat IV Pull-On boot 9 feels like an 8-8.5, since my toes without socks are jamped up to the front of the boot. The boot opening stays too wide, so they are useless if it snows, cold rain, sleet, since precipitation will get into the boot from the top unless you wear your pants over the boot. These are sadly a disappointment.
