The North FaceBallard Duck Boot - Men's

Rage against the snow.

The North Face Men's Ballard Duck Boots hate water as much as you do, which is why they protect you during cold winter commutes. The nubuck leather upper and wool felt collar create a cozy, rustic feel, and the sealed seams prevent water from seeping in to your socks. As soon as you lace them up, the boots envelope your feet in the warmth of the Heatseeker insulation. And once you head out the door, the TNF Winter Grip rubber sole and IcePick temperature-sensitive lugs stand strong against ice and rocks so you stride on in comfort.

Great boot slushy conditions

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 8.5

I live @ 7,000 feet so snowy conditions stick around for months in the winter. These have been great for wearing to work and around town when the ground is snowy, slushy or wet. The ankle cuff is pretty thick, so I have to tuck my khakis into the boot, but jeans have fit over them just fine. Warm and dry this is a great buy.

Looks good, but do not buy

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Looks good, super warm, but also super clunky. The top ring of these boots sticks out to far, and absolutely destroyed my brand new $200 snow pants as well as the other themselves in the first 3 uses. They caught onto and ripped the seam and shredded the ankle of the pants, and when I rolled the damaged pants up, twelve steps later they caught onto the other shoe and destroyed the leather as well as destroyed the laces almost causing me to trip and fall off an icy path onto rocks.. I ended up walking around Banff mid winter in tennis shoes for a week these were so bad. When I contacted North Face after my trip, I ended up getting the run around for 7-8 months before they finally refunded me. Not to mention the poor attitude and blaming from their customer service agent Tracy N. No remorse or recourse on the $200 pants they destroyed. Would not buy from the North Face again, Backcountry did nothing wrong.

Great Boots

True to size. Nice, comfortable, and warm. Playing in the snow they kept my feet warm and dry.

    MUST BUY !!!! WOW

These seem like almost the perfect combination of winter/duck boots and casual boots. They are not too bulky but they still provide excellent insulation.
