Streamlined style for bluebird ski days.

The Women’s Apex STH Pants from The North Face can keep up with you on the mountain regardless of if you’re nailing the double blacks or the bunny slopes. These extremely water-resistant pants are completely windproof, protecting you as the wind makes you feel like a sail while you navigate the slopes. A cozy fleece backer interfaces well with baselayers and keeps you warm while maintaining a high level of breathability. These softshell pants function best on blustery bluebird days, when you can rely on the Chimney Venting system to allow excess heat to escape while a gaiter with gripper elastic keeps snow from flying up your pant leg. The slim fit is flattering on the hill and stylish for après-ski drinks, so you can skip the locker room and be on the last chair of the day without being late.

Right fit, right price

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 2 regular

I bought this for my wife since she wants a "slim" pant for ski. This just the right fit she wants, slim at upper part (thigh) and have the right room at the lower part for the boot. It has a little bit stretch when you bend down, it doesn't have anything to hold a "belt" or adjust for waist, but just the right size for her.

Hey Yang, I'm stoked that she liked the pants and that they were exactly what you were looking for!

Super high waist with no stretch

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 10

Ski pants are intended to have a high waist so snow doesn't fall down your pants. The waist on these pants is very high, which is fine with my long-legged, short-waist body, but there is not any stretch, so when I bent over, the top button came unsnapped. Based on my measurements (31 inch natural waist and 40 inch hips), I got a size 10, which just fit, but given the non-stretch and the fact that I like to wear a base layer, means these won't work for me. I'll consider going up a size, but I'm afraid they would be too big.

Size Up!

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 6

I am 5'5" 148 lbs. Initially I ordered a 6 because i typically wear 4-6. I could barely get them over my thighs. I returned these and sized up to a 10. I want room underneath for a thick base layer.

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 8

These pants fit terrible! I am 5'7" 140lbs, I originally ordered my size which is size 6 and they would barely fit around my waist, so I ordered the 8 and while they did finally button, I could not sit down without the buttons popping open. Interesting because the crotch and legs were super baggy on me, which makes sense because I am a size 6. I will not be purchasing north face ski pants again.

Warmth without bulk

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: S

These pants are warm but without bulk. I adore the figure flattering tight stretch fabric. NOTE: The fit does give a little, so if you're between sizes you might want to buy the smaller option.
