When it comes to computer mounts, Bar Fly knows the game. They invented the first ever out front mount. Awesome quality and the perfect place for your computer. Not to mention they have a lifetime warranty on their products!!!

Flawed design

This product has a serious design flaw that can fatally damage your Garmin device. I purchased the Spoon Mount from BarFly and after a month of use it simply dislodged my Garmin on a ride where I was doing a little over 20 miles an hour. You can imagine at that speed my Garmin sustained some major damage. Since I was out on a club ride, I had to wait until I got home to investigate the cause. Once I got home, I realized that key contact points on this mount had started to wear away. Based on my evaluation this product is prone to this type of wear because of lack of material to properly reinforce the area that separates the two mounting positions. The ability for this mount to support multiple mounting positions for your Garmin devices is actually its weakness. Most Garmin mounts only support a single mounting position which provides the same amount of plastic or metal material around the base of the Garmin to prevent wearing of the mount, especially for plastic base ones. I strongly recommend that you stay away from any BarFly mount that supports multiple mounting positions. It?s not worth losing your Garmin.

I also sent Barfly an email about my experience with this mount and I never heard anything back from them. I guess customer service is not one of their strong suits either.

After posting my initial feedback about the Barfly Spoon mount, Kris Lunning the owner of Barfly did get in contact with me to see how they could address the issue I experienced with their product. He was apologetic and offered to reimburse me for the Barfly Spoon mount and my new Garmin 800 that I had to purchase to replace my old one that was rendered un-mountable due to the use of their mount. After a few email exchanges, I realized that Kris really cares about how his company?s products perform for their customers and wants to ensure that Barfly provides elite service for its customer's cycling needs.
