    Packable Insulated Jacket

The Stoic Packable Insulated Jacket is a lightweight midlayer you can wear for extra warmth around town, or under your hardshell when you're skiing laps at your local mountain. It features soft, packable insulation that won't lose its heat-trapping loft when wet, making it easy to stuff into your suitcase, and convenient for all weather conditions. Stoic equipped it with a hood for extra coverage, and two zippered pockets to stash essentials.

    • Insulated jacket for active or daily pursuits
    • Polyfill provides reliable warmth in wet conditions
    • Elastic at the hood, cuffs, and hem keep the chill out
    • Two zippered pockets secure small valuables
    • Standard fit can be worn alone or as midlayer

    Poor quality stitching

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

Just got it in today and I dig it. It's super light-weight and thin but surprisingly warm. It was around the low-30s today in Nebraska and I felt super comfortable wearing it. I like how it's low-profile.

EDIT: Initially gave it 5 stars but after another day of wearing it I'm already noticing that stitching is coming off. While it's worth the $60 that I paid for it I can't imagine paying the listed original price @ $120.

    Poor quality stitching

    Nice jacket not really "packable"

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I bought this under the idea that is was a compressible packable jacket. It is lite weight and very nice for the price, but I wouldn't call this packable. I'm going to buy a separate draw string bag which, I hope will work as a packable storage for travel.

    Great for the cold months

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Gifted it to my son in law for Christmas. He is a salesman and has to be out in the lot showing cars to potential buyer and this jacket comes in handy during those cold days.

    Great!

      Love this jacket

      Great midlayer for skiing!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large

I got this for a steal on sale. I am tempted to buy 3 or 4 more at this price to give as gifts - you would never know how inexpensive this jacket is from looking at it! 5 stars for the price for sure. I would probably give it 5 stars up to say half off. For the full retail price of $120 I would probably be a bit underwhelmed.

Warmth + Breathability: I wore this on a recent spring ski day at Breckenridge under a shell and couldn't have been happier with this jacket. Conditions ranged from sunny and warm to heavy blowing snow throughout the day. The jacket was perfectly warm in classic Breck freezing wind and snow. Once the sun came out the jacket was a little warm but nicely breathable and I did not find myself uncomfortably sweaty as sometime happens with a fleece type midlayer.

It is also great to throw over a t shirt to walk the dog in cooler Colorado spring evenings, perfectly fine down to mid 30s.

One important note on fit: the collar comes up fairly high if you zip it all the way up. This works nicely with the hood to create a very snug seal around your face. With the hood off however the collar might feel awkwardly high. You will need to either get used to zipping it up and then having some bunching under your chin (this is what I did skiing) or not zipping all the way but the material does not really fold over like a fleece or hoodie would so the unzipped top corners tend to flop into your chin/face a bit. Fully zipped with the hood off the hood tends to bunch in the back on your upper neck or lower skull. I actually found this a great feature under my ski jacket! The bunching is all within the collar of my shell and added a nice layer of extra padding and warmth in the back and insulated nicely against the breeze.

      Fit: Large, 6'1

      Great midlayer for skiing!

      Ok puffy for the price

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Size Bought: Small

Needed a puffy but didn't want to drop $200 on a Patagonia. While the price difference will probably get you a better piece of gear, this jacket isn't that bad. "Packable" is used a bit loosely; you certainly can but it will not pack as small as a down. It's reasonably warm and so far hasn't ripped. Overall, for $50ish bucks it is a pretty decent puffy.

How small would you say it does pack down to?

      doesn't fit broad shoulders

I order the jacket it didn't fit. Only in shoulders and arms. I have wide shoulders and large arms so there wasn't much give when making athletic move like reaching ect. The material is definitely heavier than my prima loft jacket but it appears to be warm. The hood fits well and the pockets have nice fleece lining. For full price of 120 I don't think it stand up to competition, but for 50 dollar range sell price it's a great deal.

        My favorite jacket

          This jacket is awesome!

          How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
          Chest:
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
          Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
          Hip:
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
          Inseam:
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
          Sleeve:
Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.
