We made the Stoic Madrone 2 Tent because it's never been a better time to get outside and sleep under an open sky. Next time you have the urge to lay your home-away-from-home on a sun-dappled forest floor, the Madrone 2 is a good place to start. This roomy 2-person tent shelters in spring showers and defends against the winged insects of the night. And if the weather is fine you can whip off that rain fly—the mesh ceiling will let in a refreshing breeze, and give you a view of the stars.

Beat the Heat in This Inflation Beater!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Have experience with the two- and four-person versions of this tent. Simply put, these Madrones offer excellent price-to-performance value. The most important seams come sealed. The rainfly appears to have some amount of waterproofing and includes a pair of adjustable vents. Setup is quick and intuitive. The tent's upper third is entirely mesh. Side pockets are abundant. There's even a gear loft. This is NOT an ultra-lightweight backpacking tent made with state-of-the-art materials and top-of-the-line stitching, but such a tent would easily cost 10 to 15 times this. With all the inflation we've seen over the past couple of years, a dollar doesn't seem to stretch as far, but this tent beats that trend.

Fantastic little tent!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I just got this awesome little tent and immediately took it on a camp out to the shore of Lake Superior. I put it up in minutes without directions. Totally intuitive and easy! Build and materials felt of quality. First night it rained all night and much of the second day. Second night it straight up stormed with gale force winds and torrential downpours…for hours. Knowing the forecast, I tucked under the foot print and guyed it out tight and this baby stayed up and dry! The stuff I stowed under the vestibules stayed mostly dry as well. (Full disclosure, I did not use the cheap stakes that this (and most tents) come with, opting for stronger, more robust MSR aluminum stakes…) For what it cost, especially relative to some other manufacturers, I couldn’t possibly ask for more! Well, maybe a shark mouth sack instead of the duffle but the tent fit back in just fine without even rolling very tightly. The gear pockets and attic were nice inclusions as my last tent didn’t have them. I couldn’t be happier with this little champ of a tent! Highly recommend!

Not as described in product details
Tent I received has mismatched colors. The fly was orange as shown but the tent itself is brown with blue zippers, looks totally different then what appears online and tent/fly do not appear as if they are intended to go together (this is no peanut butter cup). It's as if what they are selling now are extras or 2nds. Width of the tent is not 60 inches as stated in floor dimensions. I put 25 inch and 30 inch sleeping pads inside the tent and they stretch the width of the tent, causing one to be slightly angled, with absolutely no room in between the pads. That means it is 55 inches, or 56 inches width, max. Tent zippers are not smooth, they feel very weak and definitely are not high quality. Have one spot, bottom right corner that consistently struggle to get past. Definitely need 2 hands to open and close.

Camped around Kauai with no issues
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Accidentally put this review on the 6person tent. I bought the 2 person tent for summer camping with my dog and ended up taking it to Kauai. The tent did great with strong winds on a beach and several rainy nights. The stakes that come with it aren’t great quality, but they work. I was able to set it up by myself pretty easy and it’s spacious. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a budget tent

Great little tent
- Familiarity:

Perfect size for two people with room to store stuff and spread out a tiny bit. Lots of ways to open it up for some air flow which is great in the summer. Feels durable, and the rain fly stood up to medium level rain in the summer. Would recommend!

Love this tent
- Familiarity:

My friend and I bought it on sale for a trip to King's Canyon and it was perfect. We were able to set it up in the dark in 10 minutes and the two of us are beginner campers. The tent was surprisingly spacious and warm on a 40F night. It's great for newbies.

Easy peasy
- Familiarity:

Compared to the Coleman tents I used back in the Boy Scouts, this thing is fantastic. It goes up way fast, the bag it comes in is actually big enough to hold the tent after it's been folded by human hands, and it's the perfect size and shape. I like that the material on the walls goes about halfway up, so I can still have some privacy while I camp without a rain fly. I use my ALPS Mountaineering Barracks cot in it and it's perfect for me and my doggo. Without the cot it could comfortably fit me and my 6,1" friend no problem. Definitely worth the money.

Easy set-up with lots of features
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
More of a car-camping tent, it has some heft to it, but I think it could go in a larger size backpack pretty easily , or broken down into parts and stuffed inside. I have straps on my 40L backpack at the bottom to loop around the carry bag. The hardware, stakes and poles, go in the upper part for weight distribution. Having said that, this tent is a great value everywhere you look. Easy set-up - the hooks that hold the poles make it easier to set-up and take down the tent. Open on two sides, two vestibules, a loft, and storage inside, which is huge. I suspect you could fit three normal-size people inside with little crowding, or easily 2 adults, and a kid or dog. The rain fly has top vents and lines to keep it stable and fixed during a storm or wind event. I also bought the footprint. Very impressed with the quality!

Great tent for the price
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
It ain't a backpacking tent (but you could definitely take it backpacking) This thing is sturdy, simple to set up when you are already trashed, and has withstood several storms with no issues. I'm very happy with it.
