Why We Built The Stoic Double Cloud Camp Bed

The Cloud Camp Bed is Stoic's comfiest sleeping pad, so we followed the same recipe and sized it up for two campers. It uses plenty of foam to offer all the cushioning you need to sleep soundly. Its soft, stretchy fabric has a TPU coating to protect from wet weather should you sleep outside the tent, and the bottom is reinforced to stay solid on rocky grounds.

Amazing pad for car camping

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

My partner and I have been using this pad for car camping for the last 2 years and it has made camping SO much nicer. It is so comfy and fits perfectly in my 2 person tent. It’s just as comfy as being in our own bed! It definitely cannot go backpacking, since it does not pack down small but is just fine for car camping. After 2 years of heavy use (~15 camping trips/year), it’s pretty worn out and losing a lot of air at night but is honestly still more comfortable than any backpacking pad I’ve used. It also keeps us super warm - have had it on many nights below 25 degrees and were so much warmer than with our previous pads. If you’re looking for a comfy car camping pad for 2, this is it!! I’ve had 3 friends borrow it, and all have gone to buy their own afterwards.

Awesome sleep while tent camping

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

My wife and I just love this Stoic mattress. We slept on it a few times in the living room first and have been camping three times this summer. Each night we have been warm and comfy, sleeping better than ever in our tent. Historically I don’t really sleep when we camp because I’m a stomach sleeper and most ground floors aren’t super comfy on the kneecaps. You can sleep on your side, back, even stomach with the Stoic doublewide. Pro-tip: I blow a little extra air into it after it self-inflates for a little additional support, especially if it will get cold at night (cold air molecules shrink and it gets cold in the Rockies at night). Deflating is certainly a team-building exercise- we fold it in half and slowly roll it while the other person sits on it and then bear hug it at the end but we’ve always gotten it back into its bag. However, it takes time and thus the 4 stars.

Great!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Bought this for a 6 night car camping trip. I can’t believe how comfortable it is! I am usually a side/stomach sleeper and had no problem. If space is a concern, note that it is pretty large. I would recommend taking a small pump to help deflate it. Glad I made this purchase!

Major Upgrade

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is definitely not a sleeping pad, but rather a camping mattress with next level comfort compared to thin, backpacking style sleeping pads. fits two adults with room to spare and the large footprint adds a nice area of insulated warmth in the tent. i am writing this review after one year of consistent use and the durability has been great so far.

Most comfortable camping bed!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This is the most comfortable camp bed! It might actually be more comfortable than my regular mattress. The reviews are accurate, it is pretty bulky even when deflated, but is GREAT for car camping if you have the extra space. The comfort definitely outweighs drawback of being so bulky. My only complaint is that it that the valve covers can be a little tricky to screw on, you have to make sure it’s aligned properly. Overall I love it, probably one of my favorite purchases!

Comfort over bulk any day!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I read the reviews on this and the price was right so I ordered it and am so glad I did! The other reviews are spot on so if you pay attention, you won’t be disappointed. Yes, it is bulky – even deflated. Yes, it will take up space in your car or trunk for sure. Yes, it is difficult to deflate And may take a while to fully inflate… But you can buy a small battery operated or even cigarette, lighter or larger battery operated inflated and just reverse it when needed. This is not for anything but car camping so that shouldn’t be any problem. The reason I love this product is because it really is extraordinarily comfortable! I’m someone who doesn’t do well sleeping on the ground and the variety of various inflatable pads I have tried typically have failed. If possible, will update my review after sometime time of use, but for now I’m super happy with my purchase!

Great low profile air mattress

Great foam topper, and with air, firm and comfortable. Holds air overnight well. Like all air mattresses, you’ll want to refill the air before each night with a good air pump (not included). Low profile lets it fit in the back of an SUV (sides sticking up a bit) or a tent for camping.

Comfy but you need a pump

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

This has two valves which appears to be able to customize your sleep for either side which is a cool feature. The pad is really comfortable and warm. I’m used to sleeping on camp pads or full air mattresses—this is way better than either of those!! It has memory foam but air to keep you off the ground. Our first night we actually over-inflated the mattress, but on night two we figured out the pressure we liked and slept better. The mattress absolutely needs a pump to deflate. Otherwise, you’ll be struggling with rolling it up. I have an intex cheap one and it fits the valves perfectly to inflate and deflate.
