Backcountry is proud to be the exclusive US distributor for Stoic product.<br><br> The stoic offering starts at skin level with close fitting base layers and extends out to durable  hardshell jackets—with a few key gear items added to the mix. For base layers Stoic relies on two proven fabric technologies: merino-wool and its own Breathe Composite material. Merino is nature’s wonder fabric. It breathes, insulates even when wet, and naturally repels odors—making it perfect for next-to-skin layers. Stoic also uses a merino-synthetic blend for a line of performance socks ranging from knee-high ski socks to no-show socks for desert trail runs. The Breathe Composite material is made from a blend of nylon, polyester, and lycra for maximum moisture control, breathability, and improved range of motion.<br><br> For shoulder-season outerwear and winter mid-layers, there’s a collection of softshell and fleece jackets that feature industry-leading fabric technologies from Polartec. For warmth on chilly days check out versatile synthetic insulation pieces like the Luft Anorak. When it comes to water-shedding outerwear, Stoic employs face fabrics that boast high waterproof and breathability ratings. For instance, the Vaporshell Jacket sheds water while offering a remarkable 46,000 g/m breathability rating—exactly what you need to stay comfortable while hiking in rainy conditions.<br><br> In addition to its collection of jackets, shirts, and pants, Stoic has complemented its lineup with essential gear for camping. <p>Though some outdoors-elitists may insist on leaving our creature comforts back home, we're not the type to discourage overpacking. In fact, we made the Basecamp Bivy Poncho—a blanket-like pullover—for campground warmth while we down beverages, roast marshmallows, and stargaze with our best adventure buddies. Synthetic insulation and an adjustable hood keep core heat close so after-dark temperatures don't impede on our party. And to keep things fresh, this poncho is reversible so we can swap our look night-after-night.</p>
