Finding a lightweight set of cross country wheels is a tall order, especially if durability is a concern. The Stan's NoTubes Crest MK3 27.5in Boost Wheelset puts and end to the search and builds on its EX predecessor with wider, lower profile rims for a stronger platform paired with today's trend towards beefy tires and unbeatable tubeless reliability.

The Crest MK3 utilizes Stan's trademark Bead Socket Technology (BST), which feature low profile sidewalls to provide a better tire bead seat and a host of benefits compared to standard rims with higher sidewalls. When setup tubeless, BST yields an exceptional seal and allows the tire to hold more air volume in contrast to standard rims that hold the bead an additional 2-4mm below the edge. With BST, the tire maintains its full shape for a wider, more stable rolling platform than if the same tire were mounted to a standard rim of equal width.

Pairing BST features with the ability to run up to 30% lower air pressure in the tubeless system than a standard tube setup results in exceptional tire stability, better handling, solid cornering, and improved control out on the course. These rims are also compatible with standard tubes, with the lower sidewall drastically reducing pinch flat risk by reducing the amount of protruding material for the tube to pinch against. This means less time sitting in the dirt wrestling with a flat at the side of the trail and more time out on your favorite loops.

Stan's laces the Crest MK3 rims to its Neo hub set, which boasts smooth-spinning, oversized chrome bearings that glide on a strong, stiff, swaged axle. The Neo holds the bearings at a widened stance for a claimed threefold increase in strength compared to standard hub designs and boasts 4 precision pawls that simultaneously engage a forged steel 36-tooth ratchet ring for snappy engagement. Stan's incorporates its new SealLock end caps for easy installation and Slip-Fit axle ends for easy conversion.

The Stan's NoTubes Crest MK3 27.5in Boost Wheelset comes complete with Stan's yellow rim tape and valves already installed for tubeless use - just add your favorite tubeless-ready tire, Stan's award-winning sealant, and air. It's available with a 15 x 110mm Boost front axle and a 148 x 12mm Boost rear axle combination with either a Shimano/SRAM or SRAM XD freehub.
