Hold your chain fast and shift with confidence.

At first glance, the SRAM XX1 Chainring is a simple design. Upon closer inspection, the tooth profile reveals a unique shape. The thickness alternates to match the inside width of the inner and outer chain links. This ensures a chain-to-ring interface so secure that when used with the XX1 rear derailleur, a chain tensioner isn’t needed. To hold the ring securely on the crank, the bolts thread directly into the ring.

    Great Chainring XX1 Rocks

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this with my XX1 Carbon cranks on a 1X10 Set up for my fatback winter ride. I have the 28 tooth chainring on front and 11-42 on the rear. With the 28 tooth and the 42 my granny gear is just low enough to be able to climb steep sections when I'm in snow. I had a 30 tooth before in the summer but needed that extra gear for snow. It makes it tougher to climb and well, 1x10 is nice because it makes the spacing slightly larger for riding in poor conditions where stuff can get in your drivetrain. Definitley recommend this chainring, plus it looks nice!!

Big fan of the 1x11 set-up

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Went with the 34. Its a great size for cross country riding. Have used the xx1 for about 1 year and it has performed well.

This one goes to 11... obviously.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

No noise, smooth and simple. No better reason to go to "11" and the XSync keeps it all in line. The durability could be a little better, but since it is like the equivalent of riding in your middle ring all day, everyday, it seems about right. I have had about 4 of these rings now, and can say I have yet to drop a chain!

    Just Replaced

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Had about 1500 miles on my original ring and it started making noise and catching a bit, creating some drivetrain drag. Replaced this along with the XX1 chain and my drivetrain is back to being quiet and smooth. Highly recommended if you have a bunch of miles on your front ring.

    Great ring!

Bike came with a 32, which was a bit much for Tahoe area climbs.

Put on the 30 and all is good!

    Addicted to one

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I admit it. I'm a 1-by addict. I recently switched from my 34t to a smaller 30t ring. I have no issues climbing with a 34 (and I live in PC) but I think my knees would prefer I spin more....

Excellent chainring! The tooth design eliminates chain drop, and paired with the XX1 rear derailleur, I've never so much as missed a shift.

    If you're going 1-by....go SRAM.

The last paragraph says that this ring is...

The last paragraph says that this ring is only compatible with XX1 cranks. Will it bolt up to a X01 crank? I can't find anything on SRAM that says it won't but nothing says it will for sure.

    Great Chain Ring

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This chain ring is the bee's knees. Every other cog is a different shape so it forms a "lock and key," mechanism that keeps your chain from getting tossed off of your chain ring. I ride with the 32 tooth which is pretty good for all mountain riding but if you got stronger legs or focus a little more on the downhill aspect of riding you might want to go with a 34 tooth chain ring. If you have any questions about the XX1 drivetrain feel free to give me a call.

    XX1 is top notch

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The XX1 system is top notch and a great addition to any mtn bike. These chain rings are durable and light weight and very easy to install. Highly recommended.

    Great so far

Not much to say here: it's been durable half way through the season and the alternating wide small tooth pattern holds the chain very well. I've taken some pretty rough decents and haven't dropped the chain or felt it skip.
