Best boots!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Best warm, water proof boots. I'm 5'4" and 120. I have a 7.5 size foot shoe and my foot runs narrow. I'm very happy with the size 7.5. It's roomy but the length is great! I could wear regular socks or thick socks. Either way my feet are cozy and comfortable!

I’ve wanted these boots for a couple years, I finally bought them, and they are everything I expected and hoped they’d be! I live in northern NH, a lot of snow and cold weather. My feet have stayed warm, dry, and cozy through it all! Plus, they look good. I bought the black and they go well with everything. I’m a size 6 and I bought a 6, true to size. A tiny bit roomy with regular socks but perfect with Winter socks.
Side note: Backcountry has the best customer service and I highly recommend purchasing anything through them! So reliable and fast.

Great Gray Galoshes

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am so pleased with these boots. I have not bought a new pair in YEARS and this was the year so... lucky me, backcountry had a sale! I wear a size 8.5 in my hiking boots, 9's in my running shoes, and apparently, I wear 9s in THESE boots. They fit comfortably with socks and keep my feet nice and warm in both wintry Chicago and bush Alaska! They are super cute, so much that I almost don't want to walk through grey puddles (we're having a weird winter in Chicago). Because of the laces, I can adjust how tight I want the boot throughout the entirety shaft. Thanks for a great deal, Backcountry!

Not worth it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought my Joan of Arctic boots two years ago. It was a regrettable choice. The treading does not work well on slippery surfaces as you would expect a pair of boots to be able to do, especially one that you paid close to $200 for. Also the heel part digs into your heels. I only owned them for about two months when this problem occurred and continued to be a problem ever since (of course). Also if you have bigger feet like I do, I'm a size 11, the foot portion of the boot is so wide that they do not look attractive. Not worth the money.

My Wife Loves Them!

Nice heavy boots that still work great. No problems with quality and the boots fit true to size and have kept her feet warm and dry. Great option!

These boots are great snow boots that look great. They do run a little small but will probably pack out a little.

Last forever and looks great

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought these for my wife and she looks great in them and they last forever. This boot will stand up against the worst of weather and great for snow hikes or just shoveling the driveway. I would buy them again but since they will last forever not sure I will even have to.

I got my twin sister a pair of these boots as a gift for Christmas. She absolutely loves the boots and so do I . They are extremely warm and we have had a very cold winter this year so far. The best thing about these boots are not only are they great quality but they are also water proof!

    Sores are amazing

I purchased they boots for my 23 year old daughter living in Chicago for Christmas. This has been a brutally cold winter with consistent temperatures below zero. She tells me they are amazingly warm and loves them.

I’m feelin boot-iful in these boots

I gifted these boots to my sister, and have feedback to share:

I love these boots so much!! They keep my feet so warm and I can wear them when walking in snow as long and as much as I want and they keep my feet warm and the snow out. They are very comfortable, but I recommend ordering a size up. I received these boots as a gift, I usually wear a size 9 in women's shoe and I had to return them and reorder them in a size up because the size 9 was too small. The 9 1/2 size was a perfect fit and I feel like I can wear these boots forever. I also recommend wearing long socks with them as well since it makes it more comfortable.

These boots are made for walkin!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gifted these boots to my cousin and have her feedback to share:

These boots are made for walkin! l am 100% satisfied with this product since they are stylish and functional. I have already walked in snow and rocky terrain, and felt safe in these boots. My foot size is 8.5, but the size 9 fits perfectly.

    Best Snow Boots

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these boots. I order a new pair every 2 or three years. I am a teacher at a school in Park City Utah and we have an outdoor classroom year round so these get me through all day in the snow. Toes stay dry and warm and they look great. Got a pair for my mother this year for Christmas in the pretty red brown color.

    Winter Wonder

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used my Joan of Arctic boots for around five East Coast winters of ice and snow, primarily for walking commutes. They're bulky but not heavy, easy to slip on, and have plenty of room for warm socks. They've held up well and I still have them on hand!

    Cute and Warm

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This boot is the perfect boot if you are looking for something warm and stylish! I have worn them for 4 winters now and they still look awesome! I love coming to the car after a day of skiing and putting these on because my feet stay warm! I do wish I would have ordered a half a size down because they did pack out a little.

    Love these

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Super comfortable. I've had these for over a year now and they're still in perfect condition. Then again, I'm really not doing anything crazy in them so who knows. But I totally recommend these!

These boots are true to size.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 9 women

I bought these boots because of the high ratings on multiple websites. I wore these boots in Iceland in April. The first night I wore them on a Northern Lights tour and we stayed outside (in the snow) for about 15-20 minutes. My feet were absolutely freezing by the time we got back in the van. I had two pairs of wool socks on underneath them as well. I wore my Keen winter boots the rest of the trip. Do not waste your money. They do not come close to the temperature rating on the website.

Very surprising. I've had mine for several years and never had cold feet. I walked the dog in Chicago yesterday in -15F weather. Also bought these for my mother-in-law who teaches in Point Hope, AK - she loves and swears by them. My guess is you wore too many socks and eliminated the insulation factor.
