Seriously something off with the sizing!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 8.5

Great pair of quality made boots. Even at size 8.5, it's still a size too big. Intended purpose of use is for ski resort so not too bothered about the loose fit. as others have said, probably best to size down.

Nice but order down 1-2 sizes!!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: 11

Nice boots.
Feels nicely built and nice traction though nothing helps much on ice.
It's heavy and bulky but relatively warm. Still feel some cold in the toe area even with thick wool or fleece socks.
The sizing is Terribly OFF and Sorel management should be smacked!
You WILL NEED to order 1-2 sizes SMALLER than your normal size.
Another problem... it's hard to judge what size without trying them on.
I wear Men's 11.5 but ordered size 11 as NO 1/2 sizes were available (then).
It's still ROOMY and fits well with 2 double layers of wool/fleece socks.. 2 LAYERS!
IF I had known, I would've ordered 10 1/2 but NONE was available!
I tried size 10 but it was TOO Snug even with regular socks.
Whoever designed these boots did a HORRIFIC job at it!
I also use orthotic inserts and it's still too roomy. Will have to use replacement insoles to see if that makes a difference.
Decent boots. Waterproof lower half but oil the leather tops to keep it waterproof and keep the leather soft.
LOUSY SIZING!
Columbia bought out Sorel Canada and now the boots are made in China.

SIZE DOWN!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs large

STELLAR BOOTS
But order a size down. These run large!

Pretty great boots

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

These are pretty sweet boots for certain applications. I would not suggest hiking a long distance in these, as the fit is a little "sloppy". But I think that is by design and makes them feel like warm slippers for around town. My backyard fills with snow and is completely shaded most of the day, so it stays that way. These are great to throw on and play with the dog in the backyard, or take to the dog park to stand around on a cold day. Also throwing these on after a long day ski touring, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, etc is pretty sweet. These are one of those items that you probably don't need, but youre pretty glad to have.

Also definitely size down, probably half a size but if you are like me and are on the "smaller end" of your normal size, a full size is probably a good idea.

cool boots!

Kept feet very warm.

Great Boot for NYC and Jackson Hole

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: size 10

Managed to use these boot during the a blizzard in NYC and days later in Jackson Hole.... They kept snow, rain and slush out. My only criticism is that they run a little big ; you i might a need hiking sock to fill the void...

Killing pain.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs large

Where the bottom of the leather and the top of the water proof boot meet rubs my ankle bone something fierce. Enough for me to not use them due to killing pain, and blisters

all time classic

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Sorels are the epitome of classic winter boots...these Caribous are no different. They are warm and bomber. The boots run large. I originally ordered an 8.5 (my normal street shoe size) and ended up exchanging the boots for a 7.5...although still slightly large - I opted to keep the 7.5 to allow for a medium weight sock. No break in required and the liners are soft and feel warm. I look forward to having these for many years to come. Excellent construction and design - definitely 100% waterproof.

The Original Snowboard Boot

Sorels are my favorite footwear for Pow Surfing. Great board feel, warm, grippy, waterproof. Who needs bindings when you've got fresh pow!

First-rate Goods

  • Size Bought: 11.5

I bought these to replace a pair of Sorels that I've had for at least twenty years. I usually wear a size 12 shoe or boot. I dropped down a half size -- the 11.5 fit just fine. From the look and feel of them, this pair will last another 20 years. No nonsense boots. First-rate goods!

Keep the Cold Out!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: US11

When I moved to a snow-covered town in the Rocky Mountains I knew I was going to need a pair of serious boots. One recommendation from a colleague was all I needed, and I haven't looked back since then. They're warm, rugged, comfortable and are a great fit.

Warm boots for the snowy season

Got these for my 14 year old. They worked well while in Whistler. The weather was sleeting and icy he stayed toasty warm with these boots. They do run a bit big however.

She runs cold!

My girlfriend is always cold, especially her feet and hands. Now im starting to get annoyed by how often she tells me how comfortable and warm her feet are. I guess its better than complaints!

The classic boot is still great

Recently bought these to replace my old boots. They fit like a classic caribou boot, very comfortable and warm for whatever activity you choose.

I love this boot for before and after skiing, can't go wrong here!

Clunky boots with major durability issue

      • Fit: Runs large

Total junk. I will not buy another Sorel product. Vulcanized rubber blew out during second winter of light use. Sorel's attitude was pretty much, "too bad, item out of warranty." Don's waste you money.

      Runs Large, Great Boot.

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 10

Make sure to go down a size as these run big, unless you plan to wear really thick socks. These are a classic and you can't go wrong. Can take a beating and will keep your feet warm.

      Warm feet

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 12

My feet have never been warmer. After being in Utah for 1.5 years now, I decided it was time to get some real snow shoes and spare my feet from the snow that would get inside my low-cut hiking boots. These are extremely comfortable and very warm. I wear a size 12-12.5 and the size 12 boot is a little roomy but not too big.

      Great boots! Love them!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: 9.5

I bought these boots for various activities in snow and cold weather (shoveling, sledding, hiking) and they have been awesome. Super warm and dry. They fit pretty big. I ended up exchanging for a full size smaller than normal. Backcountry customer service was very quick and accurate in dealing with my exchange. I will definitely shop from them again.

      Heavy and runs big

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs large

These boots are VERY heavy and run much bigger than a standard shoe size. I purchased for my husband who commutes via train and walking about 2 miles every day. Too bulky for the commuter but probably a nice boot for someone running a chair lift!

      Durable

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I gave these as a gift to my father who lives in New England, and the biter cold winters are brutal there, and he loves how warm and durable they are. Sorel is a great brand with durability while at the same time being stylish.
