Quality goggles
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I got these goggles as a replacement for my worn out Giro's. The construction and material of these Smith's are top notch. I'm not a huge fan of the detachable clasp on the strap which falls right where my helmet goggle retainer is located. If they felt the need for this feature it should have been located off center to allow helmet retainers to fit the strap without interference. Other than that I really like the fit and lens clarity. As other reviews mentioned, you'll need to read the instructions and practice changing lens a coupme times, but once you learn it, it is pretty easy. I don't find any appreciable improvement in my ability to see snow definition on flat light or storm days. I don't think any lens can really help when the light and visibilty are really bad. These are BIG goggles and just barely fit to my face with my helmet on so if you have a small face or large helmet it might be a problem. Ventilation is excellent so no fogging even on moist days.
Beastly

These are incredible, the larger I/OX frame provides excellent peripheral view as well as looking very stylish paired with a Smith Helmet. I'm partially colorblind so the chromapop really helps increase the saturation and allow me to experience colors in a way I normally am not able to. I'll continue to rep the I/OX as long as they keep making i!
Yeeeesss!

Smith does it all with Chromapop helping you see in any light conditions. I bought the I/07's at first and now they sit in my ski closet cause the lenses always popped out. Don't have that problem with these. The locking mechanism is solid and there's no way the lense is popping out.
Smith IO/X
These goggles work well and I like the lens, but the buckle in the back doesnât work well with my helmet. The snap of my helmet wonât fit over the hard plastic buckle of the goggle. It means that the goggles are always a little off center and push on my nose in the front. If you are looking to pair with a helmet with a snap in the back, beware.
Can we see how to change the lenses? Is there a video out there?
Great Goggles

I love the Smith I/O line and these do not disappoint - they are big though so check out the Asia fit or regular I/O for smaller faces
Great with Glasses
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Got these for my dad for xmas when the IO/7 didn't fit his glasses. These worked well for him and fit his glasses underneath. Smith is one of my favorite goggle brands right now as they make great stuff. Had to get my dad into the new hip trends of the ski world.
Woah!
I picked these up for my son who is 18. He wanted them because they are black on black. I wanted him to have them because they are the best! Chromapop is killer. Great fit with Smith helmet. Super clear, no fog, rock and roll. Maybe I'll keep these for myself...
Best of the Best!!!

These are the best goggles ever! Chromapop Lens are just the best. you can see so clear with these and they don't get foggy. They look awesome and they fit great.
Smith Does It Again
I bought these for my boyfriend, here is what he had to say: "WOW!!! These are the shiz.. I honestly didn't think I was going to like these that much but man was I wrong. The Chromapop makes all riding conditions seem like clear skies every time. They fit perfectly around my Smith Vantage MIPS Helmet and don't fog up like the goggles I had before. "

Great with Glasses
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I wear glasses.... and couldn't find a goggle that works well while wearing glasses. These are it! Doesn't even feel like I'm wearing glasses. And the optics are amazing - that's Smith.
Chromapop - Unbelievable
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I gave these as a gift and the recipient loves them. With some practice, the lens isn't too tough to change. Ultimately, Chromapop is where it's at. There are few lens that are matched in quality and vision. Definitely, recommend!
I can see clearly now
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
The lenses on these goggles back a huge difference - both in the clarity and range of vision! It may take a few runs to get used to the larger goggles if you are used to smaller frames, but it is totally worth it. They also look great, and everyone knows: look good, ski good
very nice

amazing lenses and great goggles. only drawback is snow can get in easily on pow days and after crashing.
Crystal Clear
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Smith makes quality goggles, no doubt about it. The I/OX are no different with their large field of vision, easy interchangeable lens system, and scratch resistant lenses. The I/OX rests on the face very comfortably and rarely get sweaty due to their ventilation system.
Id recommend these goggles to any skier who has a bit of money to spend on top shelf goggles with superb construction
The Best of The best
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I absolutely love these Goggles. they work perfect for sunny days that turn stormy. No matter what I am always able to see. Then with the added Chromapops. there is nothing that beats them. they do not fog up when I have my hood up. when i don't have my hood up they stick perfectly to my helmet.
Treat yourself to the best! WOW!!!

Where to begin? Let's get the easy part out of the way. INCREDIBLE.
I/OX Red Mirror Lens with xtra Storm Lens.
I have a different brand helmet and these fit right in snug and no gaps. I have used this goggle in sunny weather, overcast, thru the grit of fake midwest snow guns blowing icy death, and in low light. It is amazing. You could see every shadow and contour on the slopes. I have had other goggles that claimed fog proof and great view - and they were good. But these Chromapops are LEGIT.
Pros - Does not fog up. Even used it with a gore tex hood over helmet (Which ALWAYS causes fog) and I had no issues even with a face mask!
Lifetime Warranty
4k ULTRA HD vision. Absolutely crystal clear
Sticky rubber part on strap to grip helmet
You can change lenses
Great field of view
Fits Large Face
Cons-
Learning to change lenses efficiently does take a little practice - but this should not be a con because you get an extra lens from Smith with this and you can buy other CHROMAPOP lenses if you choose.
Friends want to borrow them
$$$ (But you pay for quality)
I have to see if these will scratch easy or not but so far they are not scratched and great. The trees out west in Feb will answer that.
It is a steep price for goggles but they are worth it. Really worth it.
Here is a picture from Perfect North in Indiana while using these goggles. It went from sunny to overcast to sunny with fake blowing snow to overcast with fake blowing snow and these goggles did the trick better then I could have imagined. The guy on the chair with me is 83 years old!!! GET ACTIVE STAY ACTIVE BUY THESE GOGGLES!!!!!
THANKS BACKCOUNTRY!!!

The first time taking these out I knew the value of these awesome goggle. The clarity and versatility of the lenses is incredible. I picked a google with a versatile every day lens. The storm lens is incredible for really dark days, morning tours or even night skiing. You can see so much between both of these lens. The frames are super comfy and provide a really wide view.
Not overly difficult, but worth practicing changing the lenses once or twice at home if you haven't done it before. After a couple of times its pretty easy.
Great for OTG goggles
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Goggles feel great over my glasses. I don't have to bend the goggles outward like some smaller pairs I've tried. I also like the clip on the back of the strap to make it easier to take off the goggles. Changing out the lenses was definitely a pain the first time I tried it. If you're not a seasoned veteran, I'd definitely watch Youtube videos on how to do it and don't brute force anything.
Simply the best

Had many different brands and designs - these are the best for fit, lens sharpness and antifog. The larger size fits my Sweet Protection helmet with a perfect seal - can take a tumble in the deep and no snow or fogging in the goggle. The slightly larger size provides great periferal vision and a bit of anti fog help on those warm and wet days.
Smith makes an item they call "helmet helper" it's about 3" long goes under your helmets goggle strap "clip"
and your goggle strap buckle no longer interferes. Any brick and mortar retailer ought to be able to get you one
for about $10 or you can contact Smith directly.
