First pair of these style...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

After I broke my old chromapops with glass lenses, and settling with arm-less glasses (see my chums review), I finally ponied up a little and got some new Smiths. I got some lowdowns in the regular plastic lense and just couldn't accept life without chromapop! So I got these, the cheapest chromapops!

I've really enjoyed the frames: great coverage, good fit for a wide head, megol grips all around. The arms have a indent at full extension so they click which is very satisfying, and they feel burlier that the previous evolv frames I had. I do enjoy being able to look max side to side and seeing the froggy frames in my peripheral only. The top rests on my brow, which can cause sweat issues, but I'm not sure the cost of light leakage is worth the occasional drip.

TL:DR - Super light, great polarization and chrompop action, cheaper than top end, and great coverage with less light leakage!

How does this compare to the Guide's Choice Chromapop+?

Hey Steve - The Guide's Choice ChromaPop+ sunglasses will have a slightly larger and more square lens as compared to the Frontman glasses. Also the Guide's Choice features Smith's hydrophilic pads to keep your glasses stuck to your nose, temples and face. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions on Smith glasses.
