Great comfortable base layer. Slim fit so layering is easy and comfortable

Soft, Non-itchy, Great fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Review from Keri Schneider: I love this top. It has a nice slim fit without being too snug and the wool is soft and not itchy at all.

Fit: true to size. I’m a S, 125lbs, 5’7”

Decent

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

This is my first merino wool baselayer so I don't have anything to compare it to. I got the Winter White Donegal color and I like it, and it is not see through. I ordered a medium so that it wouldn't be too snug on my torso, and I am happy with that aspect of the fit (not too tight, not too loose). The shirt is very, very long however. When I pull it down to its full length, it goes to the bottom of my butt. So, I wear it tucked in as a base layer but can't really wear it as a normal shirt as I had hoped I could. I wore the shirt this weekend for an outdoor ultimate frisbee tournament (layered under a heavy sweatshirt and a down coat) and was fairly comfortable (occasionally chilly) in mid 30 degree weather with 15 mph wind.

Great Baselayer

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Small

Wore this as a baselayer during a backpacking trip where temps got down to the 20s at night and it kept me warm! I ordered a small, which was slightly large on me. I love the color/pattern (purple mist).

I find this to be a little bit on the itchy side when I first put it on but it seems to get less itchy once I start working up a bit of a sweat. Does a good job of keeping you warm and wicking away moisture. SIZE UP.

Obsessed with the Smartwool Crew

This is so soft, warm and comfy. Haven't used it for skiing yet (wishing for snow) but it is so cute that I have just been wearing it as an everyday sweater. Will definitely be ordering this in more colors.

    Beautiful

    • Size Bought: Large

Got this on sale, it is so nice and soft, ordered another one. I bought a large and it fits close, without being snug. I am 5 7 and 135 lbs. Normally wear a med but didn't want it to fit close as I had tried it on in a store and med felt too snug. Have been using the socks which are fabulous.

These are my exactly same measurement and this helped me so much. I hate when things fit too tight! thanks for the feedback!

    cozy and comfortable

What else is there to say?

      Love

I am ALWAYS cold and, consequently, being outdoors in the Utah winter makes me miserable. But no longer do I need to have a face like grumpy cat thanks to this shirt!
This top is brilliant and durable too. I've worn it on cold nights camping, out trail-running in the snow and up on the slopes. It really does help keep my core nice and toasty.
I bought a small and could probably have even gone an XS. I will be buying more Smartwool for sure!

      SmartWool for the win....Forever

SmartWool products always have a place in my heart, and I wanted to share that same joy with the people I care about. Bought this as a gift for an always cold snowboarder, and this changed her desire to get out on the mountain entirely. Fearing the cold can put a downer on anyone's day, but with the right gear, fear not! Fits very snug to keep the warmth in, but allows for nice ventilation even on some warmer days. I have personally used several SmartWool items for many years, and found them to be some of the best constructed, and most effective base layers on the market.

      Weird sizing!

      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: sm

I love the quality and feel of SmartWool socks and was ready to try a base layer. I am 5'4" and 114 lbs. I like a close fit but not so tight that every bulge is exposed. I found the medium as uncomfortably tight around my bulges as the small, almost like they were the exact same. The large was simply too large. Weird.

I agree. These fit quite closely to the body and I feel more comfortable wearing one size larger than I normally do in other brands. I'm usually a medium or even a snug small in all my other tops (5'8", 135 pounds, 36.5" bust). With these 250s, though, I find that a size large shows off my curves without looking too tight, and is perfect if I want to wear this shirt out and about.

      Wonderful-

Bought this to go ski. First off, let me tell you that I am an absolute punk about being cold. I hate it! I also hate sweating lol . This shirt fit without being tight, kept me warm when I was standing still in the freezing cold (-2 degrees) and kept my temperature regulated and my body dry when I was active. It is expensive, but if it holds up to my wearing it over the next few months, I would def buy again at the same price.

      Best warm layer ever!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I LOVE this shirt. Its super warm and soft. I know its pricey - but totally worth it. I'm 5"2, 118 - got a size small and it fits great.

Yes, You Should Buy This Smartwool Shirt

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small

I discovered these Smartwool Midweight Pattern Crews at the beginning of this winter, and they have changed my life. I am always cold and always wear layers, polar fleece, etc. This shirt is so thin and soft and moves with you and the patterns are pretty. I wear it with a thin turtleneck underneath. I like the look, the style, and most of all how something this light can keep me so very warm. The shirt is a bit pricey but well worth it. Yes, you should buy this shirt. I feel like an evangelist, but I really do love these shirts. Thanks, Smartwool!

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
      Chest:
Measure under your arms, around fullest part of chest and back circumference.
      Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
      High Hip:
Measure around high hip circumference approximately 3-inch below natural waistline.
      Hip:
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
      Arm Length:
With elbow bent slightly, measure from center back of neck, across top of shoulder, to elbow and down to wrist bone.
      Inseam:
Measure along inside leg from crotch to ankle bone. Or using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
