Why We Like The Cozy Grip Flip Mitten
When we're on a cold commute or enjoying a coffee on the front porch watching the snow fall on an early morning, we wear the Smartwool Cozy Grip Flip Mitten to keep our hands warm. Imitation leather palms provide grip so we don't drop the cappuccino, and flip-up mitt lets us use our fingers when we need to type on the touchscreen.

Lasted 7+ yrs, go to gloves!
I've had these gloves for over 7 yrs and they are always my go to choice. Super warm main part, comfortable and love the flip top for dog walking, phone use or just needing to use your fingers. Very practical. I do wish the flip top had a fleece lining like others have mentioned but I still love these and are thrilled by the durability.

Not a good fit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the concept of these gloves... the execution is a little off. 1- sizing if you order s/m it is going to be a medium on you. 2- the palm pads are very oddly placed and big. I have a small hand and they sit in a strange location on my hand. 3- the mitten part that folders over the fingers does not do much. It does slow the wind or cold air, but it does not stop it.

Perfect for quick access to electronics
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these when I go out to photograph in the cold. I have a pair of think touchscreen gloves that I put underneath, then when I need to use my camera I can flip up the mitten tips and nimbly use my camera controls and my smartphone. They are perfect for this, which is why I got them, but standalone they are also warm enough to wear on days when it's not frigid and you need access to your fingers. The only thing that could be improved is the attachment of the mitten tips - it is very hard to loop/unloop around the button, particularly with the mittens on. It is very tight, though with some use it may stretch a bit, hopefully.

These are okay, but could be improved in so many ways
I bought these last year. As others have reported, the mitten is only single lined so your fingers will be cold even with the mitten flap closed. Best to wear a liner with these (having a liner also makes them fit better for me as I'll typically wear a small and these are s/m so made for medium hands). I love the idea of the flip open mitten to free up my fingers to use with my camera or phone, but: 1) you can't keep the mitten flap open. The button and loop are so small, unless your fingers are infant sized you'll never be able to secure the mitten over the button. A magnet or Velcro would have made it much more useable. 2) a thumb flap would make it even more useful. In the end, I haven't used them too much because of those downsides. As it stands, I wouldn't recommend these nor would I purchase them again.

Great gloves for biking and walking around
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these gloves for its warmth, comfort and versatility. I mainly use it for biking around in Portland, Oregon where winter days can be rather chilly and moist. I often use the mitt with a Smartwool base glove to increase warmth. I highly recommend these gloves for keeping your hands warm and dry.

Wish they were more durable!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They sure look cool and are warm, but they're already starting to fray!
