Your feet don't have to take a beating when you wet wade.

Wet wading in nothing but a pair of shorts and sandals always sounds nice after a long winter of being stuck in waders, but then you stub your toe on a log and suddenly wish you were in a pair of wading boots. The Simms Men's Intruder Felt Boots are for those days when a full pair of waders would be overkill, but sandals will leave your feet feeling like a couple of pounds of ground beef. A full neoprene lining allows these boots to be worn either barefoot or with a pair of Simms neoprene wading socks, while their durable synthetic upper protects the inner bootie from wear and tear as you fish. Their sole puts Vibram rubber along the outside for the hike into your favorite trout stream, and the felt center offers additional traction once you start to wade.

    Perfect summer fishing boots

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have about 10 days on these boots now and I love them. The hybrid sole is brilliant and I wish all wading boots were made this way. The outer rubber sole makes it much more stable when hiking on uneven surfaces, and the central strip of felt is plenty for secure footing in the river. I bought them in my normal street shoe size and they fit perfectly with a thick wool sock. They seem very durable but we'll see.

    Perfect wet wader boot

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I just started fishing North Carolina mountain streams and needed a wet wading boot. I have been really impressed with how comfortable this boot is and it feels pretty durable. It can be a little tricky to get on and off, but I solved that by wearing sock.

    Solid boots!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Boots are great. I wet wade all summer long in the Potomac River and other locations. They are a huge upgrade to what I was using previously. They fit well and I have yet to get any rocks in them as the built in neoprene sock fits snug around my ankle. They are also very supportive to help eliminate twisted ankles.

Simms has found that people successfully size their wading boots between their street shoe size and 1 full size larger (for men). If you are a half size, then you should size up to the next full size.
