Shred Optics Smartefy Goggle

The smartphone of ski goggles.

Shred Optics' Smartefy Goggle does to the goggle what smartphones did to cell phones. This fully-featured goggle has a NoDistortion spherical lens that gives you a wide vision without distorting over time, and No BS technology lets you switch lenses on the chairlift without a problem. Shred Optics treated the lens with an anti-fog coating to ensure crystal clear vision despite the conditions. The Smartefy also features Whipped Cream multilayer face foam for comfort and universal helmet compatibility for convenience.

Really impressed

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I picked these up to replace some aging mid-tier Smith goggles and I'm really impressed.

Face foam is super comfortable, notably softer than the Oakley Flight Deck XMs I tried on. Fit is large on my tiny head (55cm circumference) but not large enough to make me look like The Fly. They also felt lighter than the Flight Decks.

Optical clarity is great. Huge peripheral vision on par with Oakley Flight Deck XM and Dragon X2s. I got the Whiteout model with the Burn Reflect lens and I'm pleased with the look as well.

The lens change system is simple and quick if not particularly sophisticated.

Biggest wow factor for me was how impervious these things seemed to fog---I had them on and off my face all day while touring, getting snow on and in them, and every time they went back on my face they remained perfectly clear.

The only criticism I can make is that the burn reflect lens has an internal reflection or glare that bounces back from down around the nose area. It's only noticeable when my goggles ride up and I look right at my feet, though.

I'm very pleased and looking forward to more days on the snow in the Smartefy. I'm thinking about picking up the contrast boosting lens as well...

Lenses that won't fog

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love everything about these goggles. The fit, and wide view as well as their durability. The lenses are difficult to scratch. I wear my neckie under my googles and even on the coldest days as I'm breathing hot breath into my goggles, they don't fog up.

Smart choice

Love everything of these goggles. The fit is awesome (no pressure on the nose at all) and the field of view is surprisingly wide. I've been wearing them all season long and they haven't fogged once.

Extremely durable

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I usually wear ski goggles for 150 days/year, always used Poc but already in March the face foam was falling apart. Bought the Smartefy and i'm approaching now the 3rd season with this goggle and it's still in great condition. Plus the peripheral vision is one of the best i've tried

Go to Pow Gog

My favorite goggle in the line, and my go to powder day goggle. They haven’t fogged up on me yet! I personally like the smaller looking frame, and it fits my larger face very comfortably too.

Fits great and huge peripheral

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have been using these throughout last winter in any condition and they just fit super comofortably on my face without being too big and still providing the widest peripheral vision i have ever tried on, by far. The lenses are really good, at a demo last season I tried their new CBL lens and was blown away, will definitely need to get my hands on one of those!

comfortable and clear

I'd been using Dragon Rogues exclusively for about 4 years until I got these. This frame is the perfect in-between for someone who wants solid peripheral without that huge fishbowl look. They're half frameless and super easy to change lenses. The face foam is dense enough that it doesn't pack out or compress down too much on your face. I hate goggles that only use open cell, cheap foam, so I was pleasantly surprised with this foam. Overall, stoked on these!
