The best yet.
Shimano’s latest XTR crankset is, undoubtedly, its best mountain crankset ever. The crankarms themselves have received a few upgrades, mainly to reduce weight, but the chainrings have been extensively. The result is that the XTR FC-M9000-2 2x Race Crankset is lighter and stiffer than any XTR crankset before.
The M9000’s crankarms use Shimano’s tried-and-true formula—hollow-armed aluminum arms with proprietary spider and ring technology. A few changes have been made, however. The left side (non-drive) is now hollow-bonded for a reduction in weight. The drive side also loses a few grams, while it carries a new four-bolt spider that is compatible all of the single- or doublering configurations os Shimano’s new 9000 group.
The chainrings have been completely redesigned for reduced weight and increased stiffness. The rings are hollow. They are stiffer than ever, however, thanks to their carbon-reinforced titanium alloy construction. Shift paths have been computer optimized for smooth and virtually instant shifting. The teeth are also titanium and have been hollowed out as well to save every possible gram.

- Q & A
i wonder if this crankset is compatible with Scott spark 30 year 2018?
and if this fit with my xt M800 stages powermeter
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
A weightless wonder with immaculate shifting.
Iâm in heaven!
A beautiful piece of machinery, that has turned my bike into a stealth wrecking ball.
Will this crankset work on Jet 9 RDO frame
Yes of course it will! I would recommend using this bottom bracket (http://www.competitivecyclist.com/rotor-bb30-24-converter-mountain-bike-bottom-bracket-stainless?ti=U2VhcmNoIFJlc3VsdHM6cm90b3IgYmIzMDoxOjI6cm90b3IgYmIzMA&skidn=RTR000V-BLA-ONESIZ) And you will be able to utilize the XTR crank no problem, no adapters, less squeak.
I just mounted this crankset on my Jet 9 RDO and it works great! It's worth noting that Gavin McBride's answer is not quite accurate, though. The bottom bracket he recommends is a Rotor BB30 to 24mm spindle bb/adapter. However, the Jet 9 RDO uses a PF30 bottom bracket, *not* a BB30, so his recommended bottom bracket won't actually work.
Will this crankset work on a 2x10? Interested in the 24x34. I currently use an XTR M980 with 26x38 and would like smaller rings on both small and large.
