Lucky for all of us, Shimano recently decided to wave its wand and transform Deore XT into a beautiful new 11-speed groupset, dazzling us with the option of a gleaming new drivetrain with all of the dependability Shimano is known for. The XT FD-M8025-L 2x11 Front Derailleur was part of the transformation, and as such, it's replete with features that make it a dream come true to use with the newest mountain standards. Now, the FD-M8025 boasts compatibility with the wider chain lines of Boost hubs and cranks, as well as increased clearance for ever-expanding wheel and tire sizes and shortening chainstays that we see manufacturers adopting for their latest frames. Despite undergoing these shiny new changes, the FD-M8025 is still a Shimano front derailleur, through-and-through. It retains efficient cable routing for quick, responsive shifting, and stays true to itself by eschewing newer side-swing pulls for a tried-and-true conventional cable pull.
