Useless for off road
SPD compatible implies off road capability but the shoe has a smooth bottom.
Unfair review. These are road shoes that take spd-sl. If you want the mountain version get the MW series. Yes there is a provision for spd but its not meant for mtb
Spd-sl = road
Spd = mtb
That is a messed up review. You bought the wrong product for your application. As pointed out by someone else, SPD vs SPD-R but even then, SPD does not imply off road compatability; it means it can take SPD cleats, something many road cyclist use during winter months. I've got the mountain bike version of these and they are great.
