Keep it close by.
After purchasing the Scott Essential SF Glove, you'll want to keep it handy for everything from scenic jaunts along the coast to rigorous training rides in the countryside. It's a necessity for just about any ride in warm weather, preventing your hand from overheating while offering just enough padding to disperse fatiguing road vibration.
Striking the right balance between breathable comfort and form-fitting precision, the Essential SF Glove employs perforated mesh and airprene along the glove's topside. Lycra promotes a stretchy, hand-conforming feel for a superior fit. Another nice upgrade is the microfiber thumb panel, which comes in handy for wiping sweat pouring off your head. And when it's time to remove the glove, simply unfasten the hook-and-loop tab and pull it off with two fingers.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
I wish I could have tried these gloves on the road, but they are too small. I ordered size large as my hands measure 23.2cm around. This corresponds to a snug large on Scott's size chart. The hanger tag says these are Unisex gloves even though CC lists them as men's gloves. All my other cycling gloves are large.
I could barely get the glove on and off. The hook and loop closure does little to help as the seam at the top of the cuff is the main point of constriction. There is no stretch along this seam. Once I was able to get the glove on, the finger holes were the main source of discomfort. I don't have twigs for fingers but neither are they sausages.
Construction and materials appear good for a glove at this price point. Padding thickness is in the medium range, although the palm pads seem to be rather small in area.
