Why We Like The Spin Ultra Running Shoe

Scarpa designed the Spin Ultra Running Shoe with a little more cushion than other shoes in its trail line up to provide you with comfort on high mileage training days, ultra-distance races, or light and fast days out on the trails. Its lower drop and cushioned EVA midsole keep your feet feeling good across all different types of terrain. Similar to other Scarpa trail running shoes, the Spin Ultra features mesh and micro-nubuck uppers that provide breathability through the miles and a Sock-Fit System to reduce bulk to provide you with an enhanced fit to eliminate rubbing and hot spots. Additionally, a TPU toe cap offers protection from trail debris when you're huffing it up a steep ascent or speeding down a long descent and the Vibram Megagrip soles ensure you'll have reliable traction throughout the duration of your run.

Great all around trail runner

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have been using these for trail, dirt, and road running for over a year and couldn?t be happier. Great all around shoe that has held up to some abuse.

Unreliable, Small Shoe

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have mixed feelings about these shoes. I've had them for about 1 year and the comfort and flexibility is good. The design looks ok and the sole is very comfortable and has good traction. They run small, given the European calculation I picked the larger size and it is still a bit too small. The downside is that 1 year in the upper is shredded. Holes everywhere! It's still wearable but looks awful and I think in the next 6 months it will probably develop a terminal rip. I only do about 10-20 miles per week and my last pair of trail shoes (montrails) lasted twice as long at a lower price. I have also noticed that a lower drop shoe causes me less pain long term. Something to consider...

Run small

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Recommend sizing up at least 0.5 sizes or a full size, wish I had. Toes hit the front etc but otherwise really nice padding, good grip on trails and rocks, breathe well too. No arch support I?d like that next time around. Wish I?d known to size up, but that?s on me.
