Good fit, great value
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
A great beginner shoe. I bought a 43 and normally wear an 11.5 in street shoes. These are perfect. They are tight and can be rathcheted down nicely with the straps.

I am new to climbing and these are my first pair of climbing shoes. So far they are a great climbing shoe and I would highly recommend them to other climbers who are just starting out.
Got these a few years ago at REI, Just bought them again so I can have a second pair!
Great Beginner pair. Tough and Durable. I have used them indoor and outdoor.
The size runs too small and the shape doesn't fit well. The back of the shoes is too stiff and too high for my feet. returned
I bought these Scarpa climbing shoes for my husband who wears a 12 wide. We had to go up a size to 12.5 for them to fit comfortable enough for long days of indoor climbing. He really really likes these shoes & would definitely recommend them! They have great grip & arch support to help with long days at the gym.
For what they are I give them a near-perfect score. These were the first pair of rock shoes for me and I was very impressed. They have worked well for me as I have pushed my grades higher and higher. Though I now can tell where an aggressive/technical shoe gives me an advantage, I haven't felt like these shoes have limited me much at all.
The materials are quality, comfortable and break in nicely. These seem to be friendly for wide feet, but I have a fairly narrow foot and can tighten them down with straps with no issues. A little too much of the straps hang off the sides, but it hasn't given me issues and they can be trimmed once you dial in the fit.
For the flatter lasted shape, they fit close to street shoe size. I would maybe go .5 down and no more than 1 full size down. I'd say I'm a 45 in these with an 11.5/12 US street shoe.
They lack toe rubber for toe hooking, but it hasn't been a huge issue for me. You can still grab with the top of the foot if in a pinch. What surprises me is how well these do on heel hooks. The rubber has been a nice blend of sticky and durable.
Definitely recommend these if you're looking for something comfortable to keep on for extended periods of time and still crush in. Solid choice for beginners as well.
Super solid review Matt, thanks for posting! Glad those worked out, keep sending it!
Comfortable tongue, truest to street size out of the 6 pairs of climbing shoes I've owned. The rubber isn't great, but its an entry level shoe that looks decent. For the price, especially if you can get it on sale, bang for the buck.
Shoe fits nicely and is comfortable for a climbing shoe. Not very aggressive but sturdy enough to trust on small holds. If you are just starting I would say buy this shoe, at the price point you won't find a better shoe.
This was my second pair of climbing shoes. My first was la Sportiva oxygym which lasted almost a year. These shoes lasted me a couple months before I wore a hole through the bottom. I'd like to say that it was my technique that wore it out so quickly but my first pair lasted much longer. I did mostly gym climbing in both shoes and climbed just as consistently with both pairs. besides it being worn out quickly i'd say it is decent for a beginner shoe. Nice comfortable fit and the soft rubber really helps you feel the hold. I do believe there are better beginner shoes but these are adequate.
Seems like a good shoe but I'm no expert in the climbing world. It feels comfortable on my foot and seems to do the job I want.
Got these as a gift and have only heard good things. Snug fit, better feel on the wall compared to rentals and cheap!
Runs true to size, a nine in a street shoe (vans) is 42 in this shoe. Comfy for long climbing sessions and great for a beginner to intermediate climbers. If your just getting into climbing this is an affordable option.
If you find yourself in the gym for hours at a time. These shoes are what you want. Super comfortable, and they smear quite nice. Edging on tiny foot holds isn't the best, but what can you expect from entry lvl shoes. Buy them for what they are meant for gym workouts. I had to go a size down from my street size.
I use this shoe for less technical all day climbs or for the gym. It is very comfortable and has held up well to everything I've put it through. Great shoe for the money, but it is definitely a beginner/basic shoe. You definitely can't beat the price.
This is the go to shoe I recommend to people when they are looking for their first shoe, a shoe that they plan on using in the gym, or putting some mileage in on.
Super comfortable, but solid tight fit. They are perfect for long gym sessions and the durability is a lot better than other brands.
The price also can not be beat for the shoe that you get. I just got a pair of these to help prevent beating up my performance shoes in the gym and warming up!
