This shoe is pretty good. I was looking for a shoe that edged better than a mytho but still with a good comfy fit. It definitely edges better than mythos but for me it ran a bit large... weird I know. I think I would like the shoe better if it was a little smaller. Felt it was kinda clunky but still a pretty cool shoe

I got these when I needed a back-up shoe while my other pair were getting resoled. That was a year ago and I've worn my original pair twice since. These shoes are awesome. I got them really tight (I'm a US street size 8 and got these in a 38.5) and tried to break them in in the Uintas. While that was one of the most painful foot moments of my life save the injury that caused me to get foot surgery, I'm really glad I listened to my boyfriend and stuck with breaking them in.

The padding on this show is great, and if purchased in one's street size, these would probably be a good beginner shoe. Getting these tighter has helped me break solidly into intermediate in the gym and has also been great the few times I've gone outside. If you're comfortable with being uncomfortable, this is a great shoe. It's doesn't stretch much, but the suede upper has a little give that has formed to my crunched toes, making them much more comfortable and less of a medieval torture device than they were initially.

First time up the wall?

This shoe is great for a first-time climber like my wife. She loves the extra padding along the sides and the heel because it makes climbing more comfortable on a tighter shoe. This fit true to size, and she loves the colors! Seems very durable as well.
If you are a first time climber, or just looking for a softer shoe, this is for you.

I needed a comfy shoe to wear to summit the Grand Teton, and needed something that I could wear with socks. I literally wore these right out of the box (which is never a good idea on a big day) and had no problems. They were super comfortable for the entire 4 hours I was wearing them.

I've worn these a few times since, on easy warm-up sport routes and boulder problems. For a non-agressive shoe the Force's are really responsive and the rubber is trustworthy on slabbier climbs. If you're looking for more of a performance fit, I would recommend sizing down and not up like I did.

I wanted them to work...

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 38.5

Ive officially blown out my old pair of evolves, and am on a quest for a new shoe to take me up a level. This was going to be that shoe! Till, 2 sizes later, they still painfully tight. I based my judgments off of the sizing charts and the past reviews, but came up crunched. I think it would have been better if my heel would have slid back into the shoe, but my heel is more or less inline with my ankle (at least it does not jut out...and I'm starting to believe that most climbing shoes are designed for a jutted heel). The quest continues.

The shoe looked like it was nicely put together. I cant speak for stickiness or edging, but they looked like they would have worked out.

Great first shoe

I'm new to climbing and when I do climb, I mostly boulder at the gym, so this has been a perfect first climbing shoe for me. I started with a borrowed pair from a friend, so having something my own size has obviously been a significant improvement, but I picked the Force X over other options for it's cushier feel. Maybe it's just me, but after cramming my feet into ski boots, running shoes, and bike shoes, it's nice to have a little extra cushion in a climbing shoe. After reading other reviews about this shoe not stretching much, I decided not to size down too much from my street shoe size, mostly since I'm still a beginner. I wear a 7ish in most shoes, so I went with a 38. If I really wanted an aggressive fit, I'd have sized down another half size, but I haven't experienced any slipping in the heel or numb toes, so I'm pretty content. I already imagine I'll get another pair of these when mine wear out (which hopefully won't be for a while!)

Cinderella fit for wide feet

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 35

I admit I haven't climbed in these yet. But as soon as I slipped them on it felt like a Cinderella fit- perfect. No hot spots (lately my Miuras start out with hot spots). Maybe because I have wide feet and Scarpas are a known wide-foot brand. These look well made and comfy- can't wait to climb moderate multipitches in them. I don't plan on using these in the gym for overhanging routes or bouldering. I don't boulder anymore & these might not be the shoe for bouldering. I'm all about comfort these days, especially long days outdoors, where my foot tends to swell as the day goes on. Updates as I get a better feel for these shoes.
The caveat is I haven't climbed in these. I have Scarpa Vapor V's and they seem super sturdy, but also feel like bricks on my feet. Here is the sizing rundown:
US Street Size: women's 4.5-5
EU street size: 34.5
Sportiva Miuras: 33.5 and 34
Sportiva Katana: 33.5
Scarpa Vapor V: 35 is too tight, till I cut off heel slingshot and broke them in. Now perfect.
Scarpa Force X: 35 feels right.

Good shoe for breaking into intermediate

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 38.5

Initially I was not sold on this shoe. I bought it smaller than my street size (got the equivalent to a size 7 1/3 when I wear an 8) so I could have a more aggressive fit. Unfortunately, after taking them climbing my feet were in agony, and looking at other reviews I was afraid the shoe wouldn't stretch enough. However, after pushing through the pain for a few sessions I can say I'm really happy with these shoes. They give me a surer footing than my other pair (5.10 Siren, which I love but are not at all aggressive), and, while not comfy, are a bearable discomfort for the added aggressiveness.

These are still an intermediate shoe, so not recommended if you want a really aggressive shoe. But for me (5.7 outdoors, 5.10 and starting on 5.11 more in the gym) they're perfect.

love this shoe

i decided to get back into climbing and got this shoe almost 2 years ago, as the first climbing shoe i bought since i was about 8. Somehow it has survived and is super comfy(and i climb almost everyday)! i've learned to lead climb (both sport and trad), crack climb, and slab climb in these shoes! i love this shoe, it isn't super aggressive on overhangs but it is very versatile and durable.

  • Size Bought: 6

I love my scarpas especially because i have wide feet and its super hard to find shoes that fit right. They're tight enough for climbing and the perfect fit for my feet.

Comfy all around shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 36.5

This is an extremely comfortable shoe that still offers strong performance.

1) Snug and padded fit, with good space for toes

2) fairly stiff rubber sole - makes the shoe feel really good on small holds

3) good rubber thickness around toes and heel, feels good to jam the shoe!

4) note - the shoe is flat, and as such not as aggressive on overhangs or roofs

Fit- i am a european size 36-36.5; US 6-6.5, and i bought these in a 36.5. Slightly tight at first, but broke in within a couple of uses.

For reference, i have Scarpa boostic in a 37; vapor Vs in a 36.5; La sportiva mythos in a 35; la sportiva Miuras in a 35.5

Scarpa Win

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I've always been a fan of Scarpas, and these are no different. I picked up a pair for a friend, but have tried them out myself and will definitely be getting some (yay twinners). They are pretty flat- I prefer my Vapor V's for the aggressive days- but they are perfect for days when you're on the rock longer. I love the slim fit, I've always had trouble finding a shoe that has a slim enough heel cup to keep my foot solid in place. Easy to adjust to dial the fit, easy to climb in for a long time! Love the Scarpas.

Love them!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really enjoy these shoes for short outdoor trips and gym climbing. The colors are great and the velcro is perfect to adjust to your foot width.

Shoe is somewhat flat so if you would like more aggressive shoes, recommend you go for a different model.

At first the end of the heel side is a bit rough but after a couple of uses they will fit great.

Awesome Gym Shoe

This shoe is amazing for trad, sport, and gym climbing. The shoe is pretty flat so not the best shoe for aggressive overhung boulder problem. I would get this shoe if you are wanting something a little more comfy for the gym or for you first pair to start out on. They do thrive in trad as well.
