Love these boots, this is my 3 rd pair of Scarpa Charmoz, and it is a winner. Not too heavy yet strong and beefy, my feet are comfortable and warm. Generally, I hate buying boots more than any other piece of gear. Despite mountaineering for over 50 years and being aware of all the sizing/fitting tips, sometimes it is hard to know if the size you got is too big or too small until after many a mile on steep terrain. So when I got my first Scarpas and they fit great, I have stayed with the same. I do a lot of off-trail cross country mountaineering routes over very hard terrain in the PNW and they do hold up, I just wear them out over 2 or 3 rough seasons. And I love the new color of orange this year! Lastly, my new pair arrived only 3 weeks ago and I used them right out of the box for a 5 day mountain trip, no blisters.

Sizing- I'm a 10.5 with a wide foot. Width is great, but originally ordered a 44.0 and exchanged for a 45.0. Great fit after exchanging.
Have not put it through the ringer yet, but did some casual hikes to break them in before longer hikes. They are stiff at first but they feel great. Good support on the foot, lightweight yet feel tough. Bought them when I moved to Seattle. Have not had a full day of hiking, but did an early season tour on MT. Rainier. Hiked up with skis on my pack, at first on asphalt, then ice, then up rocky ledges. They are stiff on the asphalt but I never felt sore or had any pressure points in most other shoes. They performed well, I did not have issues with slipping, and was quicker than most.
I think these are the perfect shoe for people who want to do day summits or for more technical mountaineering. Probably not weeklong trips in the tundra, but feel great on a weekender in the snow. My foot was warm but not baking like other waterproof boots, so no blisters, which is rare for me. Great purchase, great construction, if you feel limited in these you can always sell to a friend and upgrade to something else like the Mt Blancs- but for what I do, a boot like that is overkill. Several friends have the Blancs and have only used them once. These I can use in more applications. I even wore them sailing because I left my XTRAtuffs at my apartment.

This boot is truly waterproof. The "outdry" coating means it doesn't get heavier after slushing through glacial melt or splashing through creeks. I have some concerns about how long this coating will last, though. I've scuffed up the toe on one of the boots and I'm just waiting for it to leak, but so far so good.

This boot is also pretty comfortable. It's a nice general purpose boot that hikes well, stays warm enough in moderately cold environments but isn't too stifling in the heat. You can lace the top just a bit loose and keep the bottom tight and be reasonably comfortable on the hike in. Once in the mountains, it accepts hybrid crampons easily and front points pretty well. It also edges well. Never had any issues with blisters and they broke in quickly. I do always wear a silk liner sock followed by either a lightweight wool or heavyweight wool sock, depending on temperature. The friction between my skin and the silk seems to be higher than the silk and the wool, so the wool and silk rub but I never get any hot spots or blisters!

I've compared this boot to my Spantiks and my climbing partner's Nepal Evo GTX boots. The sole is inferior to both of those boots, both in terms of traction on snow and durability / grip when climbing rock. After a day of grade IV and low grade V climbing, the toes of the boot sole are showing significantly more wear and tear than the Nepal Evo GTX, despite the fact that my partner and I are closely matched in skill and climbing technique. That said, it's not bad at either of those things, just not quite as good as the two boots I have to compare them to. Keep in mind that both of those boots are significantly more expensive than these so, for the money, I think they're a great boot.

They're so comfortable, affordable, and waterproof that they have become my "around the town" snow boot. Snow blowing, splitting firewood, whatever - I put these on.

Great boot but make sure to order a size up to prevent wasting time sending boots back. I wear a 44 but need a 45. Read other reviews which also speaks about the small size.

I've used this boot now about 15 days in the mountains. I bought this boot to be my good weather boot here in Idaho as I have the Grand Dru for the rainy, snowy cold days out backpack hunting. The Charmoz is superlight! When you put this thing on it feels like you can float up the mountain. One weekend trip, I wore these as we didn't expect much weather but it ended up raining 9 hours straight and we had to hike out in the monsoon. My feet stayed perfectly dry and I didn't even have my gaiters with me so the boot didn't have that additional coverage. I like a stiff boot for side-hilling off-trail in the steep Idaho mountain sides and these have been great. The fit is a lot more technical than the Grand Dru's are, which means these fit my narrow, low-volume feet perfectly, without having to get a superfeet to take up volume. Straight out of the gate I took these out for a 3 day trip in the mountains in 80 degree weather and only had one hotspot on my pinky toe, which I wrapped with leukotape and all was well. If these boots can hold waterproofing over time with the new outdry membrane, they'll be in my opinion, the best lightweight stiff boot out there, better than the leaky Trango Cube GTX from La Sportiva, which I've had 2 different pairs of. Note on sizing Scarpa...I wear a 42.5 Scarpa Grand Dru and I wear in the Charmoz. For reference I also wear a 43 in all of the La Sportiva Boots I've had over the years.

Preliminary hikes in prep for a climb later this summer. Spent a week hiking in Glacier National Park, conditions ranged from snow to rain to warm and dry. Boots performed well and no issues, including crossing numerous snowfields. Was unsure on which size to order and the sales agent suggested bringing in two sizes and returning one of both if the fit was not right. This worked great and the smaller, unused pair were returned without issue. I did go up in size from my normal, using the 45.5 where I typically wear a 44.5 in other footwear.

A great boot able to handle any terrain you throw at it.
