The Maglia Nera was a jersey given to the last place rider finishing the Giro from the years 1946-1951. And while last place isn't where most people would want to finish, like the Lanterne Rouge in the Tour, it became a highly sought after placement with riders purposely losing time in an attempt to help establish their last place position. As an homage to this important part of Giro history, Santini creates the Maglia Nera Sock that completes the look with the rest of that collection's lineup, as well as looking great on its own.
Being in the Maglia Nera usually means long hours of suffering, hoping to persevere but that'll be quite the contrary if you're wearing these socks. Thanks to its construction using anti-allergenic and anti-odor yarn, feet won't become irritated over long days and continue to feel cool and fresh. They're also supremely soft and breathable and the medium length height offers just the right amount of coverage as you challenge yourself up against your local's Dolomite equivalent.
