The firmer the better.

If the last few winters have taught you anything, it's that it can't be a powder day everyday. So when you need a ski that will handle variable conditions all over the mountain, turn to Salomon's QST 92 Ski to take care of your day-to-day needs. With a 92mm waist width, this all-mountain slayer cuts crud and chop so you can make the most of any condition, and its All-Terrain Rocker 2.0 profile lives up to its all-terrain status with camber underfoot to ensure excellent edge grip on firm snow and a rockered tip that navigates the occasional soft stuff with ease.

Salomon's Spaceframe 3.0 AMB construction starts with an inverted 3D wood core that filters vibration for optimized stability when you're speeding down the mountain. The CFX carbon superfiber laminate and Koroyd honeycomb tip also increases dampening, while the power platform underfoot enhances edging on hardpack. No matter what you're riding, the ski's full sidewalls ensures a stable turning feel and durable construction.

The ski of all trades

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Whether a couple of fresh inches have fallen over-night or the drought of the decade has hit your mountain, these skis will serve you well. I've had them for a few months now, and, after a quick look at the underside, it's safe to say that I've put them through the ringer. We've been praying hard for the snow this season, and we haven't been much rewarded for our efforts, but these skis have been wonderful regardless. Just a great all around ski with a waist width that's right down the middle in terms of versatility.

Fun and Fast

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had my Salomon Quest 92 for a year and they are great for those light snow and hard pack days! While the ski doesn't have any metal, the carbon strips create enough stiffness for aggressive skiing. You might want a bigger ski on powder days over 6 inches but I love how responsive they are at high speeds while being fat enough to float on those softer days! Very versatile!

Drives like a Cadillac

Quest 92 – Cruiser
This ski excelled on the frontside and I was even pleasantly surprised by how it handled the variable conditions off piste. Definitely an a Frontside/All Mountain ski (in that order). It drove just like a Cadillac on the groomers: smooth and fast. Would recommend this for anyone who spends a lot of time on groomers or for skiing on the east coast.

Salomon QST 92 Ski

This is a 5 star ski for me. It really makes great ski for that intermediate on up to expert level skier. Really if you want to get into a ski that can handle most conditions, this one skis very, very well on the groomers and the front side. Took it through a couple of bump lines and it skis very good in the bumps, and it's wide enough to handle light powder. You really don't have to put a lot of energy into the ski to get a lot back, but once you do, the ski is there for you and you can really step on it.

    Super fun and playful

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I absolutely love these skis. Great for everyday resort skiing for intermediate to expert. Easy to jump turn in double diamond steep terrain, fun in bumps, yet super stable and damp at speed on groomers. Perfect ski for a day with 4 or 5 inches of new powder.

Fun lines on and off piste

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Got the chance to ski this at a demo last year and I was seriously impressed, especially for the price tag. at $500 these skis will allow you to effortlessly carve the front side and roam off the trail to your hearts content. Ski shape enables smooth edge transitions while the materials give you great feel and power. Tip/tail aren't too aggressively rockered, but the perfect blend for on/off trail performance. Really loved the versatility of this ski as well as how rewarding it was to get it on edge.
