Salomon's QST 118 Ski has a quest for powder, and no ice, crud, or variable snow can stand its way. It might be the widest QST in Salomon's freeride collection at 118mm underfoot, but the Twin Rocker profile enhances variability when you have to work to find those soft stashes of snow. There's plenty of rocker in the tip and tail to provide a surfy feel whenever you find powder, but Salomon added a secret helping of camber underfoot to help you edge through groomers and firmer snow while you search for softer snow. When you are really letting loose on a big line the medium to long turn radius provides ample stability, while the rocker Twin rocker steps in again to let you pivot turns in tight situations.
Salomon started construction of the QST with a full length poplar core that provides a damp and consistent feel from tip to tail. Carbon stiffens the ski up without weighing it down, while a Titanal insert increases the ski's edge-to-edge speed and responsiveness. As a major change this ski now features cork in the tip and tail to dramatically decrease chatter at high speeds and add a little stability compared to previous year models. This beefed up construction with a classic shape will have you enjoying deep snow days all winter.
