Light and protective.
As a powderhound, sniffing out the deep stuff is like a sixth sense. The Salomon MTN Charge Helmet lets you charge the hill with confidence. Built for freeriders who want maximum return, this lightweight helmet is constructed with an in-mold shell and equipped with EPS 4D impact technology, which absorbs impact from any direction to reduce the risk of head injury.
Optimized BC ventilation combines vents with 3D mesh and merino wool to keep you comfortable. The AdvancedSkin moisture management system wicks away moisture to keep your head dry and warm, and the merino wool liner can be removed and washed so your helmet won't smell like something curled up and died inside. Merino wool earpads keep you comfortable on cold days, and they can be removed in warmer weather conditions. The oval fit and custom dial offer a personalized fit so your helmet won't slip.

Fit/Form only review - did not test
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
I bought this helmet in looking for a well-ventilated lift-serviced helmet with the occasional backcountry trip. I did not test it as it did not fit. I have a 57 cm somewhat oval head, and it is too snug fore-to-aft (plenty of room side-to-side). I like the design, though the vents being so large worry me that it might not be the best in the warm snow and possible rain environment that is the PNW. The vents are not adjustable. It is a high quality helmet that I wish fit my head as I'd take a risk with the gaping vents on the nasty days (that's what hoods are for, right?). But the shape is just wrong for me, and I fear that a large will fit, but be overly large. Bummer. Love the orange color though.
