Hold on tight.
We're guessing you've seen Bjorn Leines conquer everything from the gnarliest cirques in Alaska to stupefying backcountry gaps in Utah over the last decade of his legendary career. Designed for his rowdy riding style, the Rome National Bjorn Snowboard dials in the responsiveness and poppy precision he requires for charging big-mountain lines with obscene exposure and high-consequence cliff drops. It's the brainchild of both Bjorn and Rome's co-founder Paul Maravetz, combining Bjorn's intimate riding knowledge with the extensive design experience of Paul.
It's based off the standard National, which was a limited release in Rome's line-up last season. As such, you'll find it's a centered twin for taking your freestyle tricks to virtually any feature you can step to, from burlier cliff lines to the biggest park jumps. Rome's Fusion Camber is entirely camber throughout its effective edge for locked-in carves and snappy response, with just a touch of rocker before the contacts to help it plane over chop and variable conditions without catch.
The responsive flex pattern comes courtesy of Rome's 45/90 Hybrid Laminate, which amplifies rider energy into swift carves at high speeds and explodes off the lip of jumps with greater power than what you'd find with a mellower biax laminate. Not content with merely using a responsive fiberglass lay-up, Rome accentuates the pop and overall snap of the National Bjorn Snowboard with their Carbon TurboRods. These snappy carbon rods run in a Reverse Radial V from the insert packs towards the tip and tail for explosive pop without adding much in the way of torsional stiffness.

- SinterSpeed base is both incredibly quick and durable
- Q & A
Rome Bjorn National
Bjorn's National is Rome’s new kill-it-all design powered by our modern take on positive camber. Bjorn's 158 is the same shape as the regular National, but with the addition of two Carbon Reverse Radial V Turbo Rods in the nose and tail, and the fastest, carborn infused base in the Rome line. The new generation of full-mountain exploration vehicles, it’s designed for riders like Bjorn who want the power, the response, and the flexibility to charge the whole mountain. From chutes and corduroy, to big drops and a few park laps, the National is dialed or a full day at Snowbird, Jackson, Stowe or St. Anton. The Fusion Camber is an evolution of the timeless power of camber, combined with targeted areas of rocker to help lay ruts effortlessly.

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
The Rome National is Bjorn Leines' go- to snowboard choice for hitting everything, from sidehits to powder to railing carves on groomers. While being a predominantly cambered board, it gives you insane ollie powder and edge hold while you're trying to make that steezy carve and get as low as possible. With small rockered zones right outside of the contact points, it's one of the best blends of pop and forgiveness. The "Directional Twin" shape comes with a centered stance, but the nose rocker section is a bit longer than the tail to keep your nose up while riding powder and help you snap turns quicker. If you're looking for a "quiver-killer" board that can do it all, this is the board for you.
